Wait, I completely forgot about Amethyst. I was only thinking about her pre-Aquarius mixtapes.:monkey:

Haha no worries sis. Just didn't want Amethyst to be left behind.

The question here is not what major is she signed with, this is old news already. The question is: it's Nice Life only or Nice Life + Warner / Atlantic? Nice Life is a business partner with Warner only.

@BlackoutZone !!!

I am guessing it is the third option.

What I am hoping for, is Tinashe music inc. and Nice life recordings company under exclusive license of universal music group

but is probably going to be

Tinashe music inc, under exclusive license of nice life records, division of Warner Records.

asdfghjkl pls not half a year :deadvision:

Oh to have the chance of listening to her mixtapes for the first time :allears: You're in for a treat! All 3 are great.

OT: Cautiously excited. Hope whatever deal she signed is exactly what she's looking for.

On tee time last December she said she was about done with the album and just wanted to record for couples months too see if she can come up better material than she had for the album. Then after those couples months came up and early March she told us she was searching for new deals and was meeting with labels and such.

She met with some indie labels , Columbia records, Atlantic/Warner, republic records and another universal record subdivision I think. That is what I heard.

nice life, from what i’ve seen, did start as an exclusive partnership with atlantic but i don’t think that’s the case anymore, especially considering most of the artists signed only have “nice life recording company” listed as their label, which leads me to believe the partnership is no longer & signing with them doesn’t automatically tether you to atlantic or warner.

Thanks for the info sis

I feel like in the back of my mind, I knew she was shopping around for labels but honestly thought she was just busy working on the album this whole time.

Okay so I'll let my delusional self free

I think the release on July 6 is the mixtapes so that buzz can be generated for new Tinashe music. The new single will come around the same time and her goal with this era is ala The Era's Tour where she gives a look back at her entire discography!

I agree with the mixtapes coming then the single or project. But I don’t think it’ll be retrospective of her career. She will for sure be focused on the new music. The mixtapes will probably be more like a cherry on top.

I agree with you, even though they still have work relationships with Atlantic and WMG, as Ricky discussed here. An independent deal fits more with Tinashe's career approach based on what we have seen over the past 4 years.

She can be independent but she needs great distributor or major distributor. Sis had barely any playlist and it took her a year to send a song to radio and that song flop.

The reason I think this is cause Tinashe has been liking tweets to the effect of (don't forget the mixtapes, T10 is coming, etc) so she shows the importance of the mixtapes. Also even of the mixtapes are integral to her discography, they will still need some promotion and push so that people will actually listen to them.

this is really just me trying to manifest that she steers clear of those labels tbh and focuses more on having someone with a strong name and influence backing her up while keeping her power she worked so hard to regain and put on the right track.

well the song didn’t flop. it actually did well, all things considered and it took her that long to send it to radio because it wasn’t a priority for her and it also takes a good amount of money.

like most things she’s done, as i’ve probably said before, it’s simply to lay a better foundation for herself. the more she achieves on her own, the more she can get out of a new deal without compromising herself and things she wants.

I know the feeling. At least this time she has a proper vision of the music industry, a decent management (well, at least it's clearly better than her previous one) and most importantly, a legal team. I doubt she will sign a bad deal that can leave her stuck on limbo. The fact that she avoided a direct deal with a major speaks volumes.

you’re absolutely right! her management seems to be a bit more umm…competent (although i can’t talk too much **** about mike and his wife because when they got it right, they really got it right ex. that pepsi campaign). thank god for dina tho. everything you said reminds me of zendaya discussing her transitional period before having a proper team and after. hoping my instincts are right and that this era will be something we’ve all wanted for her for so long.

It’s Nice Life recording/Atlantic :doc: I am not sure how I feel about this yet. She has a team with her this time. Hope it work out.

I think she will be fine. She has a full legal team, business managers/consultants, a decent manager team and connections (despite what y’all say about rocnation they help her rebuild her brand)  and more importantly she has leverage. Now she will have investors, a lot more connections, and a full team. She will be fine, I am just worried about Atlantic and nice life doing their jobs and doing it well. I hope they learn from her experiences with RCA and know how correctly do it this time.

I hope she still keeps Tinashe music inc. though.
