Whether or not they actually care, it means less visibility for trans people. Less companies will be pro-trans. Actual trans people and the GP will not see trans people portrayed in a positive light which means a lot for trans rights and acceptance

There are GAY and TRANS people that would have made way more sense for that endorsement, especially knowing it would go viral.

Like who? And why not Dylan? They sent her package to try to appeal to other demos than standard Bud Light drinkers.  How would putting some conservative gay in their campaign expand their user base?

Are we supposed to care what happens to a multibillon dollar corporation while many of us struggle to pay our bills? What am I missing here? :deadbanana2:

If you are apart of or support LGBT then you will care. This we will cause more companies to stop their support for LGBT stuff. We made so much progress and this has started the reverting. Target just took its pride merch down. This is making the homophones and transphobes very happy and feel like they keep canceling LGBT

And btw, Modelo is internationally owned by the same company as Bud Light

Most people don't know what they're protesting, which explains this. Bud light took a steep risk but the noise it generated is crucial for dialogue around open-mindedness. it's sad to see some would rather stay in the dark than shed light on some of the archaic mindset of what is supposed to be the world's most developed nation.  Kudos to everyone for taking the risk and I am sure Bud light will be fine. P.S - it's never too soon for change.

Merci :celestial:

At no point in time did Bud Light ever do a “campaign” with Dylan. They literally sent her a 6 pack and she posted a video on her PERSONAL TikTok account of her drinking it… the conservative crybabies, per usual got upset, which is hilarious because there’s no reason Dylan’s content should even pop up on their FYP if they dislike her so much.

Bud Light deserves this though for letting Dylan take all the disgusting backlash and not even ONCE defending her. A trash company.

How about we focus on actual issues instead of what t-shirts target is selling? States are literally passing bans on gender affirming care but apparently a boycott on beer cans is more important. :ace:

Dylan is NOT in any way representative of that brand, like even in one way.

Then it's a good thing she was never tapped to be a representative of that brand then :isudumblmao:

Bud Light did not take any risk. They sent Dylan a PR package and then left her to fend for herself against a tidal wave of abuse, meanwhile they issued a half-assed PR statement pandering to their conservative base. They do not deserve any recognition.

You do realize, not only are these things inextricably linked, but that people can focus on more than thing at once :rip:

Honestly, this is not about Bud Light or Dylan, who has had an undue amount of aggression directed at her for simply receiving a PR package. The cultural tension from Don’t Say Gay/groomer conspiracy/Drag Queen story hours/litter boxes in classrooms was building and building and this was unfortunately the straw that broke the camel’s back. Unfortunately for conservatives, they themselves don’t really have any clue what they’re protesting and it will amount to nothing. At this rate I wish Dylan peace and support because this whole situation has reached tin foil hat levels.

The market for beer is the same as the market for Coke and Pepsi - anyone who can drink it.

That's their demographic. Beer isn't some 'only this demographic' thing.

They never put her in a campaign. All they did was send her a pack of Bud Light to show their support for her. She appeared in zero ads, physically or digitally. She did zero commercials. She was not a spokesperson of any kind. The only reason we knew about what they sent Dylan was because she told us. Congrats, you fell for right-wing propaganda.

Thank you! I’m so tired of this false information being spread. This is nothing but conservatives crying for no reason, as usual.

Do you realize that "woke" means anything that's not straight and white? USA is becoming increasingly colorful and gay and there's nothing this canceling of Bud Light does to stop it. And it's ironic coming from the same people who claim to hate cancel culture.

I’m not condoning what is essentially transphobia provoking this, but they should have read the room (of their client base).

They've been using queer imagery in their product, loudly advocating for equality, and sponsoring queer events such as pride parades for a couple decades now. This isn't a new thing, Republicans just newly have an issue with it because they've been brainwashed into joining a culture war.

Well I guess their “support” is respectable for what it was. It weeds out the bigots and forces people to either get over it or forever be mad, but it’s not exactly a brand that was remotely popular among the LGBTQ+ community to begin with. It’s a piss water that hardly ever gets ordered at gay bars. Like I would hope something happens in June where there’s a major response from the LGBTQ+ community to promote and sell it during pride events to give them a deserved boost, otherwise I’m just expecting rainbow packaged vodkas, tequilas and hard seltzers getting all the usual support while bud light gets paid dust… It just feels like an unnecessary addition to the culture wars for the conservative demographic to blow out of proportion.

To be fair, I really wish she’d change her name because almost anyone would mistakenly say “him” with the name Dylan
