Society wasn’t as youth oriented back then. Music was bought by all demographics, whereas streaming is still disproportionately driven by youth.

OT, No! Hung Up was a global smash straight from the get go. It went straight to #1 in many countries (including the UK where it stayed there for 3 weeks).

It also spent 40 weeks on the UK chart. Padam Padam won't.
