Taylor fanboy Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 (edited) The material: New industry favorite is making waves and snagging major collabs left and right. Is she really is the one to watch or do you feel forced to watch her? Edited May 26, 2023 by Taylor fanboy
FolkLover1989 Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 I am still trying to figure out But I liked In Ha Mood and Boy's a Liar was good Karma is ok ig
shookspeare Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 tbh I feel like she just talks in her songs, like she's barely rapping. I don't get the hype but I prefer her to Cardi at least
Gwendolyn Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 She reminds me of the hype Cassie had during the 00s - she has everything from the looks; I need her to improve on her raps and stage presence - it's nice seeing girls like her succed out of the gate 2
FOCK Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 GP & the industry say yes, saur. Those that don’t see it lack the vision.
Mordecai Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 (edited) I really don't know why people think Ice Spice is gonna be the next big female rapper (which seems to be something that is always said when some girl gets a tik tok rap hit ). She is nowhere on the level Cardi was at when she first blew up and she's still in tik tok fad territory. She's collabing with some big names so she might get some momentum but she'll probably just fizzle out with her solo material like Normani. What she does have going for her though is she is quite memeable (like Cardi and Doja) so if she's clever she could make a name for herself that way by leaning into it Edited May 26, 2023 by Mordecai
Mark Rih Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 I like her image and persona but the musical output is lacking for me
AdrianNicki Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Most female rappers come and go these days and I don't think she will be an exception. Pretty face will only get you so far.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Honestly shes really not. :/ im rooting for her but its not like the rise of Nicki Minaj where she had talent to back it up. Ice Spice isnt a real musician
Beyonceist Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 She does absolutely NOTHING for me. Her tone is so boring, flow is just meh and like there's genuinely nothing interesting about her sound.
Bosque Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 After hearing what she brought to Karma I can confidently predict that she has already peaked.
WEEKND Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 I was really hoping that princess diana would smash it’s her best song but I’m wondering if Nicki is the reason I like it so much lol idk I wish her well but I’m not entirely sold 1
305 Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 No. I still don't get it, her way of rapping is so boring and not fun to listen to
Bacardo Royale Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 The talent is lacking but she has the star power and that's all it takes these days. Her EP is full of catchy bops too, a catchy bop is all you need to stay relevant
Alldeezy Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 All she needs to do is that collab with Tom then she will be the next thing maybe i'll even stan.
WitnessOblivia Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Maybe. It's too soon to say. The heavy push is very noticeable though (not a bad thing necessarily).
Rotunda Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 I don’t see her having staying power. To me she’s even more vulnerable than Megan.

She’s carved out a unique lane, a distinct image & is marketing herself exceptionally well to a younger generation. She’s relatable, well spoken, cool in her demeanour, has an underdog vibe you want to root for, doesn’t try too hard, a bisexual icon, has introduced new lingo & “isms” that resonate with the culture, & stays true to herself, regardless of how online critics feel about it. Her authenticity just clicks. Her fanbase are also essentially Barbz, and she’s been wise to understand what labels like Atlantic didn’t. Nicki has the majority market share of female rap fans, that’s just the reality & it’s evident in the career outcomes & longevity (or lack thereof) of those who alienated that majority. She’s writing her own material & reaching incredible heights on the back of an EP at the moment. She has so much room to grow & the banger hooks & choruses that will no doubt be thrown her way soon, will only catapult her further. 1 1

Dreajae Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Lol some of the stans set themselves up with the clips of her verse going around. Taylor would not have put that girl on a track if not for her boyfriends mess is all but confirmed.
