Also, the romanic relationship between a gym bro and an annoying feminine twink must be one of the most unrealistic storylines I've ever seen.

Just gave it a try.

The main character is one of the worst characters I've ever seen on TV. He's literally everything that is wrong with the gays. :rip:

This is some serious internalised homophobia and I'm sorry that's happened to you. But I'm more sorry that you felt the need to share it online. I'd recommend unpacking this with a therapist because equating feminity with 'everything that is wrong with the gays' is deeply problematic. Additionally, there's nothing unrealistic about masculine and feminine men dating.

Internalised homophobia? That's the reality. I've never seen a masculine man dating an extra feminine one (like Marco, with makeup, heels and all) in real life.

Yes, unfortunately you've internalised a lot of homophobia and the statements you're making are deeply problematic. Just because you haven't personally seen a masculine man and a feminine man in a relationship together, doesn't mean they don't exist. I've personally seen many similar couples in my life.

finally got around to giving this a try and after seeing the pilot i’m so frustrated. this show actually has a lot of potential to be a fun corny Ugly Betty type show but it’s ruined by miss benny being the lead character, he has absolutely zero charisma as an actor, he sounds like he’s reading lines directly off the script and he CANNOT pull of physical comedy (that little montage was so painful to watch).

i feel like this would’ve been so much better if Marco had a stronger actor, and if there’s another season they really need to ditch those lame stan twitter references (flopping harder than __ was used at least twice just in the first ep, people do NOT talk like this irl :deadbanana2:)

on the other hand Zane is such a star, he really nails this type of role and he and Kim work well off of each other. with a different Marco and some script tightening this could’ve been really great

I watched it, and it was...... okay.

At the same time, the main character and his storyline didn't interest me much. It's a prime example of the supporting cast outshining the main character.

The mother, son, and the first assistant were the most interesting ones in the show.

The way Marco is literally Carrie Bradshaw :ahh:

Such a fun show

Yea I didn't like the main characters voice or what he's all about and turned it off 5 minutes into episode 1.

Do y'all think glamourous will be back for season 2?

I am a little bit confused as to how Marco was suddenly identifying as trans because there was no hint of it at all throughout the season. I mean yes he's a femme gay but he never said anything about gender dysphoria or identifying as a female. So that was kinda out of the blue for me.

And who should play Madolyn's ex husband? I vote for Christopher Meloni

Not the son being a Swedish version of Henry Cavill.

omg why is this true? i see it now. i was kinda put off by how he looked in the show compared to how he looked in fire island. i think maybe him not having facial hair made him look so different? i guess im just jealous of him dating froy lol

I'm on episode 6 and it's a cute funny story, although the son's and Venetia's stories are way more interesting than the main character one (especially Venetia's, I'm on her side most the times, tbh). :giraffe:

Honestly this was such a funny, ridiculous and self aware show. Perfect to escape and just have some laughs. I loved it and I need season 2 now

I thought Emily is Paris was unrealistic, but this show really takes the cake

The show is entertaining at times, but I get kind of annoyed thinking, "This would never happen!" every 15 seconds :deadbanana2:

What does this mean? You know that ever since realism became a major artistic movement in the early 20th century, it's pretty much been THE dominant mode of film, TV, literature, etc.? The vast majority of TV shows that I watch are realistic. The things that happen in them could happen IRL. But this show is nothing of the sort, and all I'm saying is I'm surprised by that because I didn't realize it wasn't a work of realism going in.

Anyway, on the topic of renewal, I would like Kim Cattrall to have a successful show on her hands, but I haven't really heard any buzz about this, so I'm not sure it's it. Netflix is so quick to cancel anything that isn't #1 at release. (Though I don't know how this charted.)

I know there's no ill intent here but please be aware Miss Benny is a trans woman and goes by she/her in real life. :heart2:

I really enjoyed this. I liked that someone had the brilliant idea of making a show where the "gay best friend" is the protagonist. I might actually watch this again.

The first couple episodes might not be very motivating, but it starts getting good really quick.

Spoiler

The episodes revolving around getting the campaign/sale right were the best ones. It was all very well-handled and I loved they emphasized that the Pride campaign had to have meaning and it couldn't just be a bunch of rainbow stuff randomly put together.

Mykynnleigh was insane. After she appeared the story got really good. Not because of her character, but because of the storylines she created. I mean, they're basically upending the company to impress her (and her bosses) and the twist with the camera guy was great. We actually trusted the him for good minute there. She had a very Disney Channel quality that made you question whether you loved her or hater her.

The P-Town episode made no sense, because Marco felt he had to plain himself down to be likable to a bunch of queens that were almost as flamboyant. Not Parker acting like Marco was too much for him when his ex is almost as catty as Marco. I know the difference might be the clothing and make-up, but still...:toofunny2: Marco was out there acting like Parker's friends were straight or something. :dies:
