According to Billboard it was heard 96.3 million times last week. 
 

It also sold 9,000 copies but the amount of people who actually unwrapped their copy and listened to it is unknown.

It’s going to truly need some pretty big streaming numbers to make it to #1. Like around 40 million or so.

The fact that those songs weren't bigger was self inflicted. Don't forget that Morgan was promoting 7 Summers when the incident occurred, so that charting run ended prematurely. That said, Wasted on You was still a Top 10 debut that continued to chart 2 years later, and even outlasted Heat Waves. Of course, its run got interrupted by the incident, so if not for that, WoY is probably the first song to log 100 weeks on the chart. But yes, WoY is still a success despite all that.
