There is a good shot she can get it next week. Billie's physicals got removed from her store meanwhile DTN still has the CD on the store. So far WWIMF is trending below DTN on streaming, there is a fair chance the streaming gap will be even bigger next week. Unless Billie rolls out more physical copies, then it will be over and DTN won't get a shot because it will hit ACR.

Cassettes are a huge market in the UK, CDs aren't as much. Billie was smart to release her song on that format. I hope Dua can snatch a week next week as they're both such great songs.

I find the discussion of cheap CD-singles or other physical media an interesting one, since it actually takes people willingly to pay money and even 99p despite being a steal is not for everyone something they can or will spent. And I find the notion of calling Dua or anyone fraudulent for selling them very narrowminded. Especially since the music industry always has been built on tactics like this. Just because physical media is for most people a collectible rather than a necessity doesn't mean the initial goal is the same.

 

Overall to get back more on topic I am happy with what the song is doing, a lot of people wrote the song off a few weeks ago but it is an other hit in her catalogue and an other way to create  a nice foundation for when DL3 rolls around.

Also, wish people (not many but a few) would stop hinting or worrying Olivia is discounting everything this week. As of now *everything is album release week Sept 8. Says it right on her web-site. Technically of course anything could change but thinking atp seems it would be messy ah to change everything last second because her team as of now going ALL out on Sept. 8.

Even if she knew she'd get it last week or this week still kind of strange why she didn't think to put out cassettes (or at least signed vinyls) like Billie did for even a 'limited time'.

 

Cassettes are the hottest novelty, gimmick (call it whatever you want) but they're *effective! lol. Esp. in the UK. Much more than CDs. Getting #1 right now (& maybe top 5 in the US) as a marketing tool only elevates the buzz/hype to another level x10 for the NEW era.
