I really like this song, it's probably my fave song of hers since LevRemix/Fever and it's Top 5 in her videography. The hate on this song bc Dua is "doing the same thing" really hurt the initial performance of this song (when that was the main reason Greta and Mark chose it as the lead single despite having other big artists on the soundtrack) Anyway I'm still optimistic for a second wind in Barbie's release week, the problem with AM will be fixed and the song has a performance in the movie. Maybe not 1st single material or game changing but upper tier of my favs from her now. Pretty simple but so effective and catchy. Like basically every Dua song (except Levitating which was instantly epic) all growers then not if but when the song HITS. Was exactly the case for Don't Start Now. I think most songs in the US slow a bit down on pop once they get to the top 10. Dunno if callouts came out for this yet but seems this is def. stable at the min. Esp on the biggest stations. And that's all before the movie drops! Never underestimate Dua. Always organic and slow & steady. This def. could go top 20/top 15 in the US. All before the movie in 2+ weeks. Taylor and SZA are def. coming hard but only the closest to Dua atp. If this could stay steady a solid top 5 radio peak coming for a song that's a 'flop/meh/mediocre' here. All initial chart goals w/ Dua seem to always get moved up lol but atp I'd love top 5 on pop and top 20 even for just a week on the hot 100.
