Labels and the music industry needed someone to tear Nicki down and erase her legacy, and they already tried it with multiple female rappers but never succeeded. Cardi was their last big attempt to accomplish their plain of completely destroying Nicki’s legacy. They thought that they had found the perfect person to end Nicki when Bodak Yellow went #1, but Cardi’s career was not going anywhere after that, and so that’s when Atlantic decided to fake a tweet about Nicki liking a tweet bout Cardi’s parenting in order to paint Nicki as the bad guy. It was 2018 and Nicki hate train was strong. Atlantic knew people would believe the fake tweet because they were the ones who orchestrated Nicki's hate train back in 2018 and they knew the GP would side with Cardi and Nicki’s career would fall into oblivion. Cardi’s career was pushed not to become a big artist. It was pushed by labels and the industry to destroy Nicki’s legacy. ------------------------- Gaga and Nicki didn’t have the best relationship because they were constantly being compared. I believe Gaga felt threatened when Nicki gave us songs like ‘Super Bass’ and ‘Starships’ which were mega hits. Keep in mind this was back when Gaga was at her peak, so Gaga feel a bit jealous that Nicki was doing great pop records and overshadowing Gaga’s dominance back during her peak. Nicki was eating her up in the fashion department, and when she started doing pop in 2012/2013 she stole Gaga's shine and I feel that's why they didn't have the best relationship. But, it seems like they’re in good terms now, so it’s all good. This is exactly why Cardi hasn't done a second album yet cause she knows that she was a pawn to destroy Nicki's legacy. 1 5
Selegend Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) There's a lot of careers that are overestimated just because they're older. Justin Timberlake being called "prince of pop" is a great example, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd are already miles above him. This also happens with pop girls. There are a lot of pop girls that have been surpassed by younger girls but if u say the truth u aren't respecting their "legacy". Boring. P.S: This is not about Madonna, Michael and Britney. Their titles are deserved. But there are a lot of artists that fits the "overestimated cuz they're older" checkmark. Edited May 18, 2023 by Selegend 8 3

Yep, I know plenty of people who stanned Gaga when she was at the top, but jumped on Taylor’s bandwagon after 1989 or reputation. 2 1 3
