Apparently there's If Jesus Was a Rockstar 2.0 on Japanese version of the CD. Is there any truth to it?

She did say she recorded the song in German iirc. So maybe it’s that?

For her next EP/mini-project i would love for it to be fully in German.

Some brand new tracks and then the versions from the songs she already released in English. I really want TP German version officially released :jonny5:

She needs to improve her brand in Germany too, and this would help her a lot.

Controversial hot take: "If Jesus Was a Rockstar" is better than anything on here

Claws is great. I also started to appreciate brrr as it didn't hit me when it was first released. It's nice that Hit It From The Back is officially released, but I might've overplayed the leak. Would be cool to get more songs with a deluxe/whatever.

No because what was the reason for not including Try Again in this album? Her team is a mess! :doc:

there is no Japanese edition. there is only standard version in the Universal Music Japan store and in other stores.

Try Again will make a very nice replacement for Unholy since I deleted that garbage :fan:

I enjoyed the album but I lowkey agree. I really love If Jesus Was a Rockstar, it's more lowkey than most of the album but very catchy and pure pop.

Ironically though, if there's anything that sounds like a Teenage Dream reject (which I feel like has been thrown around as shade towards the album?), it's If Jesus Was a Rockstar. :deadbanana: But I don't really find that to be a bad thing since Teenage Dream is amazing.

I just listened to Try Again and didn't she show us a snippet from that song on a live?

It's an excellent song :rip: How didn't it make the cut and Bait did lmao

Just watched her GMA performance finally and I was pleasantly impressed. The vocals are there, she just needs to work on her stage presence/choreography. Sometimes she comes off as awkward but she'll get more and more used to it.

I still wish songs like Close Your Eyes and In The Next Life were hits. They could have been on this album and been still as cohesive and modern.

As it is - Claws sounds like it belongs on Turn Off The Light.

Hey girl haven’t seen you post in a while, welcome back

In a funny way, the album made me appreciate IJWAR more bc FTB goes so hard that it’s nice to have a cathartic acoustic guitar pure pop moment. We didn’t get that on the actual album.

Agreed!

Something tells me I’d like TP German version more. From the snippet I already like her vocal delivery more; it’s less nasally than the English version. And if you notice, there’s a harpsichord/guitar sound in the German version that gives it a more folky/lullaby vibe which I loveee.

Я только что прослушал Try Again, и разве она не показала нам отрывок из этой песни вживую?

Это отличная песня,  :рвать: как она не попала в список, а Bait сделал это

Yes, she included this track in her instagram live, the track was changed at the last moment to "coconuts"

I just find the song to be beautifully melancholic. She is essentially saying that she feels left out of religion due to its puritanical nature, there's this undercurrent of being disatisfied with the modern fast life and perhaps glancing at religion at a way of finding spirituality and meaning but she can't reconcile the way it demands your wants and freedoms be restricted.... and on a subtler level the song could be interpreted as a commentary on how most religions reject trans people like her. I've always said Kim needs to make a song about being trans, which she has never done, and that's how she's going to truly break out. There was supposed to be one on this album as per an interview she did but it seems to have vanished from the track listing. Of course she's the artist and can choose what to do, but I just think that is what really sets her apart from every other pop star wannabe, she's had this insane life story of being one of the youngest trans women ever in Europe to be really public about it... it's incredibly courageous, brave, historic and I think society needs that perspective in music. If she can find a way to build a huge pop hook out of that I think that will be the moment she truly becomes a superstar. What people ultimately want from music is honesty. They want to hear the unvarnished truth even if it makes them uncomfortable. Kim's story is the ultimate story of being true to yourself no matter the whole trying to bring you down... that would make a way more powerful song than another story of being high in the club and throwing it back to daddy.
