Claws in particular is a song I could hear Britney on I got through the first three tracks last night, but I had to go get ready for bed so I paused my first listen. Definitely hear the Femme Fatale vibes but more eurodance-inspired than EDM like FF. I really liked everything so far though. I can’t wait to get to Claws. It’s been my most anticipated for awhile and now I’m even more hyped. I’ll take a Britney styled BOP any way I can get it these days!
Timeless Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 I absolutely love Claws and Hit It From The Back. Easily the best songs from the album.
britneyboy45 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Not sure if this has been discussed yet but Minute is sooo Katy Perry 2010 coded… I swear I can hear Katy in some of the background vocals. Great album track

I'm blown away! Her "heart to break" vocals were on point!!!! The cute little moment she has trying to kick the heart balloon and her giggling AHH I'm obsessed, she is my fave for a reason queen!!!

Great album track Yes, it sounds like it could have been in Prism. Even the way she sings it sounds almost inspired by Katy.
popularmoonlight Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 I finally listened to the album. Kimberly what a pop icon that you are!! I strongly disagree with what we thought this was gonna be, a collection of random songs, because this album is in fact cohesive in its way. Pop dance bangers, and she excels at them. It feels like a Kim whole package, you can hear references and tracks that are reminiscent of her older sounds (Clarity/TOTL) and other tracks where she evolves this sounds. It’s so pleasing to hear. Beautiful vocals and great productions. Whoever is complaining about any of this has got to have a problem in their ear. This sounds ******* good on earphones, it’s an infinite cat walk. We need to admit - this album is better than what Problematique was. Her label did not do her dirty by making her work a lil more on this album. I truly liked all tracks, and loved most of them. Feed The Beast, King Of Hearts, Claws and Minute are sooooo great. 10/10 tracks. Need to mention the rave perfection that is Castle in the Sky, I demand a more techno version. I really wasn’t bothered by Sex Talk, it’s an inoffensive track put on the middle to slow things down a little. I actually enjoy the track. The more I listen to BAIT I hate it more, seriously it shouldn’t be there. Banks sounds weird and does not make justice to the rest of the album. Kim really delivered a great pop album. Really hoping her core audience embraces this, because they’ve been begging for ages for “the old pop to comeback” and Kim just did it, and better.
BryceG Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Anyone else hearing a possible Usher sample in King of Hearts?

Great album track Omg i heard this from the first listen but didn’t want to say anything because of my Katy avi and people thinking i was crazy i could totally hear this on Prism or even Smile.

I also heard a KP inspired track but it's written by Griff and now all I hear is a Griff song. 1
CottageHore Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 What is this hype for Minute? It’s easily one of the weakest on the album. The title track is honestly the smash!

Adam’s Eve Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Yeah not feeling this one unfortunately. Very safe and generic brain sludge. uhoh was a cute bop and I still fw Alone but the rest is a skip for me. Unholy, brr and Coconuts are tired and have no place on this album. BAIT is the worst offender, can you even call it a Kim song when 90% of it is BANKS. And what’s up with her doing this cringe Ashnikko sound an odd choice, my ears were very offended and I usually like some of BANKS’ music. The least I can say is the album does have a cohesive sound but it’s still giving very much Ava Max rejects. I was expecting more from Kimberly. Turn Off the Light was her peak I fear.
Witchpop Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 King Of Hearts Uhoh Claws Castle In The Sky are my current favorites, which I think is because everything else on the album has been heard for a hot minute
CottageHore Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Hit It From The Back reminds me a lot of Stars 4Ever by Robyn. It’s up there in the top 5 of this album, I fear
Saint James Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 from a technical perspective britney could sing claws but britney doesn’t choose sadistic tracks. rihanna would though
Cruel Summer Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 I'm so happy that brrr and Unholy are at the end so the tracklist will serve effortlessly cute when I delete them with extreme prejudice and forget that period of her career ever happened! With those gone... woo-ah being back, everything being a BOP, the Y2K and europop vibes, bless Kim for this. The way she pulled this back from the depths of hell starting with Alone Some tracks are still not quite as instant as her other eras, but with time I think they'll settle comfortably. I like that it has a clear and distinct sonic identity from Era 1, Clarity, and Turn Off The Light, but incorporates sounds that you might have found on those into something that's cohesive throughout. After a long time being apprehensive about this album and her sonic direction, I look forward to seeing what's next (including, hopefully, TOTL3). The title track and Minute stand out to me most, and of course Alone and Revelations are great. I liked pretty much every one of the first thirteen tracks, actually. Hard to tell yet how it stacks up against TOTL, Clarity, and Era 1. Definitely like it more than **** Pop.

Rainbow Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 I skip BAIT every time! That should’ve been scrapped. Not even a Kim song
normanikordeix Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Sorry if im late too this but Minute sounds exactly like a Griff song (griff has writing credits in it), anyone know it is a griff reject? Or did they write together

VampireGrin Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Love the album! Hate Coconuts and Unholy being on it just like everyone else, but whatever. I’ve already overplayed Revelations, Sex Talk and HIFTB so I’m not listening to those much but I’m glad they all made it. I think i’m the only fan who is happy All She Wants got axed. It’s one of the worst of the Problematique bunch. It would’ve been better without those laryngitis vocals from Paris. King of Hearts is hands down my favorite. The most explosive chorus I’ve heard in over a decade.
pink lightning Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 One thing I need to say was the this for me was the messiest rollout I have ever seen on an album release like ever, only for ended up being a messy playlist. It's a shame because there was a real potential here if the vision was trusted right and the big decisions were taken correctly and then we finally have an album with very solid bangers but with a lot of what-ifs and corrections that desperately needed to be done, such as Coconuts and Sex Talk being scrapped completely (because wtf) and other adjustements as Alone having a different production, HIFTB not being cut shorter, Revelations not receiving a tweak in its instrumental, the tracklisting in a better order, etc etc etc so it's not a bad album per se but it sure is very frustrating. All aside, good to see that she still has an instinct for pure pop hits because the top 5 of Claws, Uh Oh, Castle In The Sky, Minute and Revelations is still immaculate.
