There are a actually a lot of things from the Renaissance tour that I've seen in other places, but Beyonce makes them work in her own way.

And the Confessions Tour. Can't believe no one has caught onto the giant disco horse during Break My Soul / Summer Renaissance being a pretty obvious throwback to the Future Lovers performance.

I clocked that. Also, in the Drunk In Love performance she had the girls on the pole doing the same thing the nuns did in the Holy Water performance :cm:

Edit: actually Madonna herself was the one who did it lol

Yeah, I noticed this when I was watching. Beyonce and Madonna both have a mutual respect for one another so it's all cool.

I'm pretty sure the horse is a Studio 54 reference, not a Madonna one...

Someone rode into studio 54 on a white horse. It's an iconic piece of pop culture

Bianca Jagger famously entered the club on a horse, which has become one of the most enduring and iconic images of Studio 54.

Since Beyoncé is referencing that era, it seems much more likely that this would be the reference.

Oh wow, I didn't know this. That's really cool!

Never knew this was what Madonna might be throwing back to as well. Always figured this was just some weird avant garde idea of Madonna's to mix equestrian with disco after the horse accident in 2005.

It's a pretty well known iconic moment in US club history, referenced quite a bit.

Technically neither pop queens did it tho, it was their dancers lol

aside from all the 30 years old drags about Beyoncé being a thief of this and that, she's always been honest about getting inspired by different shows and bringing elements she liked into her own

Madonna is the blueprint when it comes to pop shows. Blond Ambition Tour is like the first modern pop tour with different segments, interludes, huge props, etc. Of course Beyoncé took some notes. I'm pretty sure all pop girls from Bey's generation hear about/watch all of Madonna's tours. She knows how to surround herself with the best people/the best creative team.

That said, Beyoncé is also a major force and the greatest performer of her generation, so it's lovely to see one queen inspiring another one  Plus, Beyoncé never hides her inspirations. That's one thing I particularly about her: she's grateful and pays tribute all the time, while cementing her own legacy!

It was a mostly arena tour that had to adapt to stadiums in Europe and Asia.

Time for the madonna stans to be resentful for a decade + :supaspaz:
