Maybe it’s time to stop paying actors and celebrities exorbitant amounts of money for contributing arguably the same amount as anyone else on the set does

This!

good for them!

I remember Lost and Heroes heavily suffering because of the writers' strike and it made so mad as a kid lol but now I'm just hoping for the downfall of Netflix.

will it only affect television shows. Or movies as well?

This was completely avoidable. Hollywood generates upwards of like $60B and writers struggle to pay bills and keep a roof over their heads, it makes zero sense whatsoever. Capitalism kills.

Their offer was more than reasonable and yet AMTMP still couldn't accept it lol, and for most of the offer they didn't even counter, they just refused.

Although, calling television and film 'content' was the beginning of the end anyways. Art was being reduced to nothing but literally filler for streaming services and production companies. This strike can go on a very long time, and honestly, I hope it does! Young talent and veterans should be in nurturing, healthy environments, not financially + creatively starved and expected to continue working. SAG & DGA contracts expire June 30th, image if all 3 striked simultaneously!

Consumers can support mainly by not being dickheads about this. Your favorite airing shows will be suspended for a bit eventually. Watch an older series you've been meaning to get to, or any films on your never ending watchlist. People actually complaining and asking for AI created film/tv sound ridiculous, have you seen the dialogue and premises generated by AI? :rip:

People in here saying that studios should use AI :rip:

Ai is so basic when it comes to writing it’s different from something you can easily find on google and just Copy and paste a paragraph. Chat gpt has the creativity of a rock.

No way was season four of Lost its worst. The finale was amazing, and The Constant is an all-timer.

I support the writers.

:coffee2: Agree 100% with all of this.

And it's baffling daytime is hush-hush on this, among other things.

For Sarah Michelle I'm gutted... but for me, I'm okay because the series is not my cup of tea.

These people trying to make AI as some type of "saving grace" is so weird to me. I would gladly take any sh*tty scripts written by actual human than whatever the hell chatgpt came up with :skull:

Hell even trashy reality shows are more entertaining than AI scripts bffr
