I mean it’s not impossible and I could see her getting Globe and SAG noms like HOG but the Oscars are still pretty snobby to comic book movies unless you’re undeniable like Heath & Joaquin and/or have a huge narrative like Angela Bassett being overdue for a nom after 30 years. 

 

Gaga is at a disadvantage as she doesn’t have a strong narrative and the film is a sequel which usually don’t have lead acting nominations. The HOG snub was really surprising considering its success and that Gaga was the only one to hit all precursors, it seemed like there was a bit of resistance from the Academy to nominate her again so I’m not sure if they will for this. 
 

Either way this film will be great for Gaga’s acting career, I was surprised when my straight brother mentioned being hyped for it the other day and Gaga being a great choice. As long as it’s decent, it will be huge. 

 

for me, it is a very risky move for Gaga acting career.

But if movie flops critically or commercially. It will be catastrophic for her, since she is the most noticeable addition/change compared to first one. 

 

For me, this is either landing her a oscar nom or she will be made fun of at awards show by hosts (ala cats). I honesty don't see any middle ground with this movie. But this may be my stan glasses taking both sides to extreme.

Margot's Harley is for a sure a cartoonish adaption which is fun and great for big action packed films but Gaga's portrayal is going to be so much more layered and complex

What I said was both this movie and Barbie have pushed this to new levels to the point where it's obnoxious.

The internet is rife with footage of their set pieces, costumes, makeup choices, even whole dialogue.

It's giving trailers that spoil a movie's entire plot half a year before release, except these two hadn't even begun post-production.

And hopefully both will bomb because it's been a bit insufferable.

They have plenty of time and ways to promote and campaign when they actually get close to releasing.

A nuanced Harley Quinn portrayal could be Oscar catnip if done right, I mean both Heath Ledger & Joaquin Phoenix won Oscars for their Joker performances.
