It is! And he is definitely under appreciated. This Binary Universe is a masterpiece, let alone his contribution to electronic music with projects like ESCM, Ima, Movement in Still Life, and Emotional Technology. He’s also worked with more people than most people even realize. He is a visionary.

She does’t necessarily need to make it all the way to the Oscars to have a successful awards season. She played a campy villain role in HOG and ended up being the fifth ranked actress of 2021 according to metacritic points system, winning the NYFCC. The role is meaty and bouncing off an already decorated performance in Joaquin’s Joker; if Gaga is good she will get her notices and will bring Harley to awards attention the way Heath did back in the 00s with The Dark Knight.

Big budget films like this are supposed to have airtight security to safeguard production, so it was a definitely a PR tactic.

The Barbie movie was doing the same thing. And hopefully both movies bomb

I mean it’s not impossible and I could see her getting Globe and SAG noms like HOG but the Oscars are still pretty snobby to comic book movies unless you’re undeniable like Heath & Joaquin and/or have a huge narrative like Angela Bassett being overdue for a nom after 30 years. 

 

Gaga is at a disadvantage as she doesn’t have a strong narrative and the film is a sequel which usually don’t have lead acting nominations. The HOG snub was really surprising considering its success and that Gaga was the only one to hit all precursors, it seemed like there was a bit of resistance from the Academy to nominate her again so I’m not sure if they will for this. 
 

Either way this film will be great for Gaga’s acting career, I was surprised when my straight brother mentioned being hyped for it the other day and Gaga being a great choice. As long as it’s decent, it will be huge.

On location leaks happen all the time, it’s part of the fun of following film productions bffr  it’s happening right now with Wicked despite filming taking place in a remote farm and not in New York City. The bigger the star, the higher the profile, the further said leaks are disseminated or memed. Joaquin filming at the same locations for the first movie ended up similarly spread across social media. We also got leaks from Nolan’s trilogy too while shooting in Chicago, including Anne Hathaway as Catwoman etc etc etc on and on.

 

I know being a hater is tough but at least don’t allow it to make you dumb too.

They don't happen all the time. Movie production on location, esp for big budget films, wouldn't be safe for crew and cast if security wasn't airtight. That oviously includes bystanders not being able to get up and close to make pictures/film entire set pieces like the ones we saw during production. They hire extras for a reason, they're not just people who happen to be in that street on NYC or that beach in Malibu on the day. The pictures/videos we got are a PR tactic by the studio to start hype for the movie. Again, we saw the same thing with Barbie.

There is more to gain for Gaga’s career as a movie star with this film whether she makes it all the way to another Academy nod or not.

Sure Jan, on location leaks to a rabid internet audience started as a marketing tool by WB for Barbie in 2022. Now you don’t to keep repeating yourself being so wrong so loudly.
