Rep2000 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 let's be real, who still even have a CD player nowadays? Beside maybe the one built-in in your car?
magazine Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Don't know if BTS sell vinyl, but that would make sense Yup

I have one on an older pc and the CD player mainly gets used to rip my CDs to FLAC, which is much more convenient than dealing with physical CDs. People buy vinyl records so they can post pictures of their vinyl collection on instagram.

Jotham Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I'm not surprised, but I can't stand this mentality tbh. So much time and effort gets put in producing vinyl records and all you're gonna do is have them collect dust on your shelf?

I still have a CD player & dual cassette deck with my stereo and we have a turntable too that still work. They're decades old (turntable 40+ years old). My stereo speakers have 15" subwoofers too. But the last LP I ever bought was the Beastie Boys License To Ill in the spring of '87. I don't know if I still have it now though. I also have newer & more compact stereos that have tape decks & CD players.
GentleEarthquake Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Well duh, those things are ancient and Spotify exists
HereInMyHead Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I'll never understand the appeal of vinyl. It looks nice, but that's it. Every time I go on discogs, 80% of the comments are from vinyl collectors complaining about their records arriving warped or scratched, or that their pressing doesn't sound good, etc. I like collecting physical versions of albums, but CDs are miles better. I like to play them occasionally. They're not as expensive as vinyl, they don't take up as much room and I can rip them directly to my computer.
#Beautiful Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 bunch of losers with no personality that trend hop on anything they see other people do on their phones
brianc33710 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Well I wanted to share pictures of my working stereo system but cant figure out how to post them. They are downloads/attachments not URS links.
Andre2000 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Yea it became like a trend again among gen z even though hipsters have always done it but they actually listen to them (like me) but who cares? Y'all ***** about the music industry dying yet their keeping it alive by actually buying physicals. This site is so deluded and odd that anytime somebody spends thier OWN money they get "dragged", live your own lives
UnusualBoy Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I never understood the hype of it, I don't own a single vinyl, not even from my faves but well to each their own and their ways to waste their money.
bestfiction Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Vinyl is basically merchandise at this point and making a decent setup is quite pricey
ChrisTheLoner Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Not shocking, I for example collect cd's but don't own a cd player (unless the cd port on my pc counts hihi )
bestfiction Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Not to mention that vinyl is probably the only way for indie artists to make profit off their music, aside from touring
Wonderland Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Everyone saying they’re collecting them for value. Gurl they’re not going to go up in price if everyone is doing the same thing
family.guy123 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Duh. Imagine wasting your time studying this. It’s why I laughed at the people making fun of 30 vinyl collecting dust on shelves
