The air quality in NYC is terrible at the moment, multiple shows have been cancelled across Broadway..

To any ATRLers in NYC, stay safe :)

wheres the review babe?

She slayed the house down boots

She was great! And the lighting design was a wonderful surprise. Glad there were plenty of comedic moments mixed throughout the play, it helped ground the character. The direction of the second half of the show was a bit different than I expected so that was nice not knowing where it was going. Really happy I went. There were some people crying by me near the end (which was powerful).

Shucked is officially getting a West End transfer for next year. The fact they announced this before even announcing a National Tour, I’m gagged honestly. :skull:

Also, Jeremy Jordan is heading back to Little Shop of Horrors. Oh how I wish I lived in NYC to see him in it. :wanda:

what did Michael Arden say in his speech that was censored and a bunch of gays, including Ben Platt, started cheering voraciously?

Posted (edited)

"Growing up, I was called the *** more times than I can count. But now, I'm a f----t with a Tony."

(uncensored part also included "So keep making challenging art, keep loving each other, supporting each other, standing up for those who don't have the strength or courage to do so, and vote at every possible moment.")

once upon a one more time 52%

a beautiful noise 62%

the cottage 75%

that is def a flop.

it's also the 3rd cheapest show, with the others being non-musicals.

Bizarre casting, in my opinion. :rip:

How though? Nicole literally IS Norma. Once an IT girl, then forgotten, fighting to get back into the spotlight. Nicole has definitely been a victim of ageism as well.

AND, from the early previews, literally EVERYONE is mind blown by this. It's a complete re-imagination of the story, they are calling it ground breaking and one of the best shows they've ever seen.

Multiple standing ovations throughout the show, Nicole is being praised to high heavens. Seems like she may have that Olivier on lock.

Also, she told one fan that they are possibly aiming for a Broadway transfer next year.

She may also star in Death Becomes Her in Chicago in Spring 2024. She lead the New York reading and basically everyone that was a part of it was cast, which was announced to open first in Chicago before transferring to Broadway. And she flew to Chicago last week. The person that broke the news that Nicole was starring as Norma in Sunset Boulevard said that he believes it's pretty much a done deal.

Nicole is finally coming for her LEGEND status now that she seems to have finally made the decision to drop the Mainstream Pop Scene for theater. That's where she belongs.

Also, if y'all are in London, make sure you check out Sunset Boulevard.
