Johnathon
Even if it was (it isn’t) it takes nothing away from Beyoncé’s career.

May just have to change my stance. CIL will probably outlive Dilemma in the long-term but it seems Dilmemma was the bigger hit for it's era. Crazy In Love probably feels biggest by because it's more iconic and has been a club staple for 20 years. Also probably probably more straight appeal

Cheers
YouTube + Spotify Daily: Halo - 1,066,682 Dilemma - 964,455 Crazy In Love - 825,480 So no. But it’s surprising how Dilemma is bigger than all her other songs.
Dreajae
2 hours ago, reymiu said: Ok but if you want to say that CIL is bigger because it helps Beyonce sell more albums, shouldn't you compare to how much Dilemma helps Nelly sell the album ? Im not arguing that Dilemma is bigger than CIL but the comparison between DIL vs SP is not working - simply because like you said Dilemma is for a NELLY album If ppl only bought Simply Deep because of Dilemma, they could have bought Nelly's album instead - they didn't need to buy Kelly's album But CIL is Bey's song where she is lead on her debut album. Kelly's lead for her album and theme in general was totally different. Dilemma was literally tacked on to bring more attention to her as a solo artist. Nelly also had more than Dilemma that topped the charts, which is why his album is deservedly Diamond. But that is the past. In 2023 one song recieves more Spotify on demand streams while the other has youtube video streams daily. Combined there is about 100-150k streams between both platforms that seperate the 2. CIL could very well surpass it in the long run cause CIL can get 1 million daily Spotofy streams depending on the season. Both were big but CIL factually did more for Bey's career than Dilemma for Kelly. And Nelly wasn't wholly dependent on that song to go Diamond and had a good run. slw84
I would say it's not bigger than Crazy in love, Single Ladies, Halo but interestingly enough it's bigger than pretty much every other Beyonce hit.

Sabandija
I wish Kelly could top the success she had with Dilemma. Looking back Simply Deep is way better than I thought it was back then. They really chose the singles poorly. She could've been marketed in a different way but they tried to make her some kind of Beyoncé 2.0. Who thought releasing Can't Nobody aka Crazy In Love poor little sister as a single was a good idea?
