you need to shut the f*** up, you b****. Who the fk are you with that Taylor avi? Can Taylah even sing the songs that Kellallah can? nope. if Kelly had the luxury of singing one octave songs, she would. but Kelly is an icon, and she is always pushing herself. that is why she released a song as personal about her divorce. no singing about sexy babies. no singing convoluted lines about narcissism or altruism. bye Taycaca. Now I love Anti Hero, but no one is believing the shat you are selling. no one is smelling the fumes of your manure and mistaking it for chocolate cake. no they aren't. we see the cow manure for what it is. actually pause that, scratch that. i do like taylor. but her fans like the original poster? no. if I caught the OP one of his daily dumpster dives I would probably discretly shut the lid on him. yes I would. how dare you fkn come for Kelly. and using that picture of her to make fun of her weight? check yourself you fkn skin and bones. fkn chicken **** scrawny f**k. your cheeks are hollow but i know its not because you can afford the Liam Payne special. Taylor would not be happy with you knowing you are making fun of someones weight, especially when Taylor herself fought a life threatening bout of bulimia. this isn't a Demi stan you are talking to. this isn't a Beyhive who is all talk. this is Kelly Nation.

Maybe it's because I live in Europe but Kelly Clarkson hasn't been musically relevant for over a decade now here :skull:

she's like 25 years into her career, not everyone is gonna have hits this far into their career and it's ok, most artists barely last 5 years anyways

as long as she has a fanbase and can tour (and earn money from other ventures like her tv show) then she's doing good

Kelly is not an A-List celeb ,nobody cares whether she divorced or hook up with new guys or not.

Thats why her music is bomb.

It doesn’t seem like her intent was to get a hit when she released either of these songs? I’ll also admit that as a massive Kelly fan, I think both songs are underwhelming and I’m hoping that the album has some rockier songs.

I agree. I was expecting more lyrically from the songs. I was expecting a Because of You, a Sober, a Maybe, a Behind These Hazel Eyes, a Piece By Piece, something. But, "I don't need to need somebody when I got me" is basically, "You know the bed feels warmer sleeping here alone" repackaged and we have heard that message from Kelly sooooo many times over (with arguably with more stylistic and original lyrics). So, neither mine or me feel all that novel. mine is a bit different production-wise for Kelly. The rhythm switch is nice but it feels reminiscent of the superior switch-up in drivers license. So, yeah, it just doesn't make too much of a mark.

They're fine, serviceable songs but they don't leave much of an impression unless you're just listening for vocals. The vocal performance on both is great and she delivered there. But that's the only memorable aspect of them for me.

Right?! I’m really hoping it’s just the label forced tracks and the good stuff is waiting!

it’s not 2007 anymore that’s what happened

The songs are boring and not songs people are inclined to listen to again.

I'm not surprised she's bombing all over the world because she only had one global era...20 years ago.

However, I am surprised that the songs are doing less well in the US. Doesn't she have a popular talk show? I'm not convinced by the argument that the songs are weak and therefore a flop(it depends on taste). 90 percent of today's hits are garbage, so :giraffe:

The most important thing is whether these songs appeal to her fandom. If the music is good, who cares about the charts

This era feels very low key.

Playlisting is bad. She should have had a music video ready for release. The album being months away is a bad idea.

I wouldn’t mind seeing her Vegas show.

Now play it cute.

The songs are a bit too personal and specific to her situation, the GP can't relate. They're also not pop radio ear candy like PBP is.

How is, “I don’t need somebody to love me” too personal or specific? I think the most specific lyrics is Kelly singing about her ex’s insecurity regarding her success, “I don’t need somebody who feels weak standing next to me,” but even that is pretty general and I’m sure plenty can relate to it. Plenty of people have had insecure partners. Kelly mentioned she chose not to include some of the more personal songs she wrote on the album for the sake of her kids (which is completely commendable). So, yeah, I don’t see how these songs are super specific?

We want "single, sexy, and free" vibes a la Flowers. The adult contemporary genre is stale.

Give us Miss Independent 2023

Exactly this. She needs to give us something with flavor.

Mine and Me aren't that. They sound like Piece By Piece rejects.

A lot of you overrate what a show of this sort can do, even a successful one. Kelly's show averages a little over a million viewers. For her song to be a hit she would need ALL of her watchers to stream it at least once every DAY. It's not happening. There's a reason why no major artist promotes at morning shows anymore. Especially since the Grammy's ain't bringing in boosts with 10 times that viewership

OT. The songs are weak just like all her singles since People Like Us. She already has hits under her belt so if that's the music she wants to put out, she can afford it.

I believe I have the answer:

we see her all the time, we love her but we see her everyday

the promo has literally been another Kellyoke performance and an IG live from her dressing room

Mine is better than Me, none of them are single material. Hopefully this is a Piece by Piece (song) situation

Who wants to go to Vegas with me tho?

This! I was thinking about overexposure. Of course there is the ageism factor, but the fact that we see her every day doesn't give us the oportunity to kind of miss her, thus there is no hype.

But I'm okay with that. She doesn't seem to care about massive commercial success and seems to be happy about the music, so I'll just enjoy.

Several things at play here:

1) She very much appeals to an older audience now, this is probably due to her talk show's audience consisting of mostly middle-aged women (idk the actual stats on this but that's my impression of who mostly watches talk shows these days).

2) Talk show viewers do not translate to numbers in music

3) The last time she had a big hit was 11 years ago now (Stronger), & the last time she got any type of mainstream buzz for her music was the American Idol performance of Piece by Piece. Her last album in 2017 did poorly and it's been a while since then now.

4) She's 21 years into her career and peaked way before streaming. Her streaming stats naturally will struggle more & declining is just pretty natural that far into your singing career.

5) The songs are boring (imo)

Not coming from someone who stans someone who can't even chart on the BB top 200 and hasn't had a solo hit since the Ice Age :ahh:
