Not sure where she could’ve gone to get a hit, though - I think her time as a Pop Star is just done, and she’s probably happy with her talk show gig and the occasional music/tour.

Piece By Piece had to rely on heavy payola for Heartbeat Song, and then the title track came as a fluke because of its viral moment. Sadly both songs could've been on any of her previous albums and fail to leave a bigger impression Also, I wouldn't dare to call Kelly "forgotten", but it seems like in the current pop landscape she's rarely being mentioned/recognized, it seems like she's not important at all? Unlike Avril, which seems to have gotten some new, younger, fans in the 2010s even in her flop eras (Goodbye Lullaby, self-titled), it seems to me like Kelly didn't manage to achieve that even though she's had a few bigger hits, so her fanbase got older and isn't the one streaming and as present on social media.

I think some of us hoped that since she's on TV it would help. I think the show's audience will buy the physical album though, her team should have released it with the single tbh. Streaming is dominated by under 35 yo but TV skews older.
