HEAVYONIT Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Is this surprising? She isn’t releasing commercial music anymore and there’s still no lead single. She’s busy working on her #1 talk show
Kanye West Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 I love her but these songs are awful. I couldn't listen to them for more than a minute. Even the visuals are dull. Is there a reason she hasn't worked with the Stronger album writers and producers?
IBeMe Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 music is clearly a passion project for her at this point. I think she knows that anything she releases now will flop yall She has other sources of income for her (The Voice, her talk show etc...). This is just to tap into her artistic side again is all
kyris89 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 I had no idea she had new songs out and that she has an album coming
pride4jc1222 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 It's not 2006 anymore. We're in 2023 and Kelly Clarkson is 41 years old. At this point, the best hope for Kelly getting another hit is if one of her old album cuts goes viral like RUTH.
naval23 Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 We wanted Since U Been Gone esque bops and she gave us "Low" instead

Otter Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) 95% of artists fade drastically in popularity over time, and single success is where its normally hit hardest... nothing to see here. Edited April 25, 2023 by Otter
NickLacheyFan Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 There are alot of reasons but lets face it, a double release is never a good idea when you are not at your peak as an artist. Also the most important part is that they are both not catchy, Mine is stronger but even that song is kind of soft for a first single. I love her but I don't think this album will have strong singles. Lets not forget MD was amazing but almost nothing from that album was radio friendly. I fear the same faith for this album, though judging by those 2 singles, it is not as strong and they are trying to make it somewhat radio friendly but those two are not edgy enough nor radio friendly enough so this is missing both points for me.

The reason Kelly goes viral by covering the songs of other artists is because she’s still insanely talented but also the songs she’s covering are GOOD, emotional, relatable songs that the GP connects with. The original material Kelly gives lately is so uninspired, forgettable, and boring. There’s nothing interesting to check for.
LatinFreak Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 I personally find her annoying and i guess the white soccer moms that watch her cringy show already have PInk to listen to so they dont need Kellys bland music.

You clearly aren't bright if you think soccer moms in their late 30s and 40s and grandmas are streaming singles lmao clown
themaverickmanner Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Kelly Clarkson hasn’t had a legit hit in over a decade.
KKW Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 She’s uninteresting and no amount of viral tweets about her McCovers changes that
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted April 27, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted April 27, 2023 The ridiculous takes in this thread. I think some of you get more joy out of when a female artist doesn't smash than being a fan of your own faves. Nobody was expecting these songs to smash. Ageism exists, and there are very, very few female artists that are still doing well commercially at this point/age in their careers. And that aside, Atlantic really isn't doing much for them at this point, and Kelly doesn't really care either. The best we can hope for is more of a push closer to the album release. Anyway, Bloo said it best: On 4/20/2023 at 7:43 PM, Bloo said: Kelly is turning 41 next week, has two kids, and two other jobs. She is at a point in her life that she probably couldn't give less of a f*** about charts at this point. I'll admit, I'm not the biggest fan of mine and me. They both feel a bit meh for me. I enjoy them, but I don't have urge to listen to them like I do with most artists I love (and Kelly is the artist I've stanned the most in my life, for context). So, yeah, she isn't going to make the moves that work in the streaming era (e.g., neither song have a proper music video) and she's 20+ years into her career. She's naturally going to fade. People need to stop having ridiculous expectations for legacy artists.
MonsterOfFame Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Kelly Clarkson's audience has been millennial and Gen X mom's for some time now. I don't think Gen Z even knows she exists, and she hasn't had a hit at all since the streaming era. Established acts can't rely on radio and payola to force us to hear their latest releases until they're stuck in our heads. Oh, and the songs are boring ballads. Kelly always launched with a really strong dance pop power ballad, but now she's trying to be Adele.

Underneath The Tree has been going top 15 on BB Hot 100 for a few years with no promo and while it's a Christmas song. A hit is a hit Edited April 27, 2023 by KCFan2014

I'm not wasting my time talking to someone who stans a singer who can't even crack the top 200 and sells lube Move along. She become a feature artist 10+ years ago nothing more lmao Nothing you said changes anything. Xtina's overall career is still leagues above Kelly's: Xtina - 57,232,000 Kelly - 39,178,000 How embarrassing for your fave then that she's far below someone with a supposedly "short" career by over 18+ million units.

Lmao girl stop embarrassing yourself. Your fav can't chart period all she is known for is selling lube. Nobody cares about the artist that needs a feature to have a hit. When was the last solo hit she had hahahahaha. Nobody is threatened by that short career How embarrassing that she couldn't even crack the top 200 Come back and talk to me when she cracks the top 200 There's a reason she's constantly clowned on within atrl Edited April 28, 2023 by KCFan2014

A woman being the owner of a company that will make more than your entire family put together ever will isn't a drag btw.

Christina debuted 5 years before Kelly I hope she would have more sales Christina has had 3 solo #1s the same as Kelly lmao. Christina's last solo #1 was in 2001 22 years ago. Kelly's last #1 was in 2012. She also charts in the Top 15 every year. Christina could never She hasn't been a thing since Back To Basics nobody is worried about that flop Kelly has had way more longevity and I guarantee her new album will outsell Christina's next which will also not chart It has to be embarrassing for your fav not to even crack the top 200 Atomic 💣 Not you bragging about her CO- founding lube company You know your career is in the pits when u gotta sell lube Move along stop embarrassing yourself Edited April 28, 2023 by KCFan2014
