I've never heard the rest of their #1s.

Cz! Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 The Hot 100 is a joke lmao. Wonder what the cause is for their selective chart manipulation when it comes to certain acts? Cause they're avid to change the rules in other circumstances. And the cherry on top is the fact that "Gangnam Style" -a cultural phenomenom- never was #1.

Bts fans are better at strategizing the exact actions needed to reach their goals
PurrKaty Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I’ll never forgive Billboard for discrediting Levitating’s sales when they pull stuff like this for other artists

TheArgonaut Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I remember when people doubted Evermore would chart for 100 weeks. There is truly nothing impossible for her. The original music industry!

I was refering to Billboard's sketchy policy on discerning what is an organic hit and what isn't. Obviously they know what they are doing. Fans going bankrupt just to see their fave artificially topping populatiry charts is something I will never understand, nor want to.

Songs are staying too long in the Top 10 because radio is overweighed and holds onto songs way past their expiration date. Plus, we never had a song spend more than 60 weeks on the chart after the 25/52 rule was reinstated and before UGC streams were removed. The only ones that went past 52 weeks were Uptown Funk (because of the Super Bowl), Shape of You, Perfect, and Sunflower (and that one fell off after Week 53). [Someone You Loved made it past 52 weeks, but its final weeks were after UGC was removed.] Adding UGC streams back and lowering the weight of radio will move the charts faster. Ms. Togekiss Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 how many BB200 points did she rake up just in these two weeks
Planet Mars Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 I remember that time Tom from Stereogum came at BTS's number one songs, calling all of them (outside of dynamite) fraudulent. I don't think I've seen a Twitter lashing so vicious and brutal before Their fans tore him a new one, whew. I don't think Billboard wants that smoke. Nothing is scarier (online) than preteen girls with a stan card and reliable internet connection.

CaliClass24 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Agree, they should only count the top performing
LastGreatBloodline Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 #35 on streaming sings and 10m streams this has to be some kind of record for a #1 hoping for #1 - OUT
pride4jc1222 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Also, it would be great if radio gave more songs the BMS treatment and drop them after 8-10 weeks, just like 1970s radio. It would create faster turnover and keep the charts fresher.
Enrique523 Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Has any other tour in history ever had an impact like that? This is just insane
moo Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Has 2 weeks of almost an entire discography in the Top 40 ever even happened for an artist that died? MJ?
