Sounds like we're finally getting the Popnashe we deserve!

Also, does anyone know what the benefit would be of her to joining a label at this point? She gets millions of streams/views, she gets really good PR from Roc Nation, produced her own tour, her audience has grown. Like what can they do for her now?

like everyone else has said, they can provide more funding and better access to things like potential award show performances and things like that.

the biggest thing is because she has proven she can make major moves all on her own, she has the ability to ask for more, which means she’s in a position where she could demand that they not only pay for the mixtapes to finally be put out officially but also ownership of everything. if they were willing to give her a 5M deal back then after rca, imagine what they’re willing to do now.

i really hope she just does distribution with republic tho (not columbia again or anyone else). she’s been there before but this time can be so much more fruitful.

Do you know which records label were offering her that amount? And also which labels were giving her offers ?

she was with RCA not Columbia, unless you talking about Sony overall.

she just needs a great distribution deal and some investors/sponsors that is all. I get partnering or signing with indie label may not give her all the resources she needs and plus she will be sharing profits with them but it is better than signing with a label.  She should try to get good distribution deals with republic and keep it moving.

from what i heard, labels like republic and columbia have shown interest in her in the past and probably still are. i don’t know specifics of who offered what but there was genuine interest from multiple places.

also, i’m very well aware that she was signed to rca as a solo artist. however, as part of the stunners they were signed to columbia (where i think she met mike her old manager who was working in the pop department or whatever) and then republic.

If she signs to a major I'm sure it'll be "Tinashe Music Inc., under exclusive license to ___"

and ultimately just a way to get on to radio, Grammy noms, bigger performance moments, etc. Exactly what Muni Long just did with Def Jam after "Hrs and Hrs"

I doubt she'd sign another 5 album contract where they get all creative control, force her to do pop singles, etc. She has leverage now, bc she can book Kelly Clarkson and sell out a tour and do festivals, etc. on her own.

Exactly. She has so much leverage now. Rapper Russ did a partnership with Columbia after doing the same thing . Tinashe is in so much better position now then he was when he signs a partnership deal with Columbia.  Russ was able to get Columbia to give him a 7 figure advance to fund his projects, when Columbia recouped their advance, He and Columbia had a 50% split in profits, plus Columbia only made money from the projects he released with them. Columbia provides all services a major label provide and Russ was able to not only have complete control and ownership of his music but got haft the profits     of all the projects he released with Columbia.

Tinashe career is in a much much better position than his career was.

like you and @Saint said, she wouldn’t sign a traditional contract with them. If she can get a great partnership deal with republic she should take it. If she still has total control with of her music and get to keep her masters, publishing , get them to put the mixtapes on streaming, have all the benefits of a major label without being stuck in a shitty deal. She should totally take it.

Signing to a major label could mean an end to the cheap production and actually getting some decent mixing and mastering :clap3: Jk I love her really, but I miss the Aquarius production levels

She is always coming. :gayriahcat2: Anyway, no one works harder than her in the industry. Ready, Queen.

What is wrong the mixing of 333? I know it is not in Dolby atmos or any other fancy thing.

She performed yesterday at Coachella with Kaytranada, and she's full blonde. I wonder if this is the look she's going for the next project
