It's bad for her...

I understand Flowers being a viral smash doesn't mean she's gonna have a smash album, but it did seem like the interest was focused on HER rather than something like abcdefu or Unholy where people only cared about song. So I thought she'll do at least 50m... but damn this is really bad.

In my opinion, what makes this even worse is the fact that unlike Sam or the abdcefu girl, Miley has a long career with a solid fanbase and a huge celebrity status.

It's shocking that such a monster smash couldn't translate to better numbers.

people keep saying "TikTok hit doesn't mean success!!!" when Flowers pulled far beyond the numbers of an average TikTok hit, it was ASTRONOMICAL and there was huge media attention on Miley herself, so this is not a comparable situation to Gayle or whoever else.

it's truly a bomb and i can't even comprehend it :deadbanana2:

Not surprised at all. Maybe last decade all of this would've worked but definitely not now. It's a rarity that's you'll find someone who is naturally interested in her music. Another image switch up for might help spark...something.

why are people surprised at this ? Flowers was obviously just luck and good timing, miley was never  a streaming giant… i expected even less

Yes I personnaly didn't expect high numbers her doing just PH numbers + Flowers seems really low especially that Flowers had a decent debut even before going viral.

there are a lot of k-pop acts with lot of physical sales despite of bombing on streaming.

So I won't be surprised if they do 115k sales and 112k are pure album sales :skull:

he fully follows kpop, idk why he's acting brand new. or maybe just OTwiceH :skull:

the album will have legs after she starts promoting it. She still hasn’t posted the link to the album on any of her socials :deadbanana4:

not suprised since there was no rollout and promo done for it:sistrens:

she aint Beyoncé

flowers can only do so much after years of flopping since 2013

Wow this is awful :deadbanana2: but deserved for a bad album. Even my friend who’s a GP listener and was hella hyped for her album messaged me yesterday saying how much of a disappointment it was and that she won’t be listening again. Back to the drawing board!

I had the sam experience. Flowers fans are not liking the album.

my thoughts exactly. after Flowers smashed her old hits and Plastic Hearts songs literally re-entered the charts, that's proof that people cared beyond just Flowers.

people were also talking about her New Year special with Dolly, Hannah Montana going viral every other day. there seemed to be real investment in her music by the GP and the buildup was real and then... this. :deadbanana:

I love Miley and even though this album is not my cup of tea I still have a lot of respect for her as a live performer but I just HAVE to laugh after her fans tried to convince us she's bigger than Ariana now lol

I just think Miley waited too long to release the album. Not to the extent of Joji (who had several months of inactivity after Glimpse of Us before releasing the album), but the virality of Flowers has worn off already. Miley should have released this in February.

Yeah it's debuting at #3.

Twice could outsell. And lana probably would have outsell too.

A release with lana would have been better cause more people would have known about miley release because you know...what album is better, who sells more and so on.

Yes, that and hits don’t mean success. Yes, it either means you’re a singles’ artist or people are not interested.

When Flowers was smashing PH got a nice boost, so did her old hits. People were definitely interested, just not in this album.

I think a lot of people just stopped the album mid-way.

I think she obviously didn’t expect Flowers to explode like it did and most likely wanted three months to release after the announcement to let the song hopefully grow organically with time and marinate. Except it smashed straight out the gate, which is obviously an unexpected, great thing, but not in the album’s release case given how long it’s already been.

mee autoplay rlly carried flowers and now its become evident

She has made the same error Selena did with Rare, waited too much instead of letting the hype of lead singles carry the album. Selena waited more than Miley tho.

This is a huge loss for her base, damn.

WELP, even though this is not surprising at all, people aren’t checking for Miley like that outside of Flowers and now the numbers make that clear as day.

People acting surprised when she has no fanbase (just one look at her previous 1st week sales says it all) and Flowers was a payola’d hit surrounded by fake narrative about her relationship created by new label.

Not this :rip:

No one believed me when I said Flowers was all P A Y O L A (yes, autoplay is payola)... y'all look like clowns now :clown: I love the album though so I will keep streaming

Posted

Not sure why people are surprised, Flowers was a hit cause it is a great song, not cause anyone cares about Miley

Album sucks so deserved
