The first days streams have little to do with the quality of the album kkkkkk people have to stream it to find out how it sounds

Or maybe people streamed it once and never went back to it. That's a possibility.

this is... really bad :deadbanana2:

Ok now we summon the pop emergency alarm

Omg :deadbanana2:.

Flowers doing 70% of the total streams of the album :deadbanana2:

Maybe they were right not to waste much on promo :penguin:

Gosh, this is Sam Smith / Gloria  levels of flopping.

Flowers i Guess its a fluke. She ditched her rock/electro niche for just one hit.

she needed to pull an olivia and release a single before the actual album to create even bigger hype 💀

Dua, Olivia and even Lil Nas proved that releasing 3 singles before the album creates hype and stability for those songs. :swan:

idk why artists insist on releasing the second single with the album, unless it's a big collaboration (like the one Karol had with Shakira) it's gonna flop (Lavender Haze, OMG) :rip:

:redface:This level of collapse can’t be explained by the lack of promo or the single rollout, I mean, she literally released the biggest hit of the year and it still #1 in multiple country, her new album debut with 2nd single (which is one of the best song of the album, not a wrong choice) at the top of TTH, this two factors alone are enough to make an album perform well, there is no big misstep from her label or team. You can’t just see it flop and then blame her label.
This just shows us two things:
1. This album is just not it
2. She still has little to zero appeal to GP, the Flowers smashing is because of itself not the one who sang it, and it doesn’t let people care her more either

Lil Nas and Dua albums didn't open high. Post album release singles underperform for big established artists because the tracks usually peak on streaming when the album is released. And Lavender Haze is doing fine, if River can have a similar performance that would be very good for Miley.

Yea no… Dua proved this “theory” wrong back in 2020-2022  Promo is EXTREMELY important

Textbook example of confirmation bias.

If she had "little to zero appeal" to the gp, she would miss the chart entirely, rather than debuting top 3 with 150k units.

So more than 50% of streams Yesterday are already from flowers alone. Not good looking.

Flowers is back at #1 on TTH, River is at #7.

Didnt Pink's promo really help her sales in the end? Miley doesn't have a large enough fanbase and hype to go off without proper promo like Bey or Taylor, I think she should book at least Fallon or something this week.

Regarding the streams, this are Sunday numbers, today it's probably gonna increase a bit

Yes this.

Some promo during this week could have help.

Some people are saying "She is not Taylor or ariana so she should promote" but even Taylor the release week of midnighrs made kimmel and a night show in the UK. She didn't perform but she made the interviews.

She Is not doing even that.

Yeah she should have done more promo leading up to the album. It feels like they assumed Flowers numbers meant the whole album would be checked out.

Does anyone know how other albums did in terms of tracks charting 3 days in? I saw a tweet yesterday saying every track on Taylor's, Ariana's, Dua's, GaGa's, and Billie's last albums were still in the top 200 on day 2. It seems really bad that over half of the tracks on this have dropped off by the 3rd day.

Well tracks from midnights were all in the top 50 or almost for a week i think. With 3 4 in the top 10.

Positions i don't remember, It definitely made worse than midnights in that, ariana smash was than you next: all tracks in the top 100 for weeks if i'm not wrong.

Gaga few days for all the tracks but Better than ESV until now.

Future nostalgia non singles songs weren't bigger.

Taylor released even the First single with the album, so you can't make any different with the second :ducky:

Honestly i don't see how River released 3 weeks ago would  have change things.

Probably now we would see even worst numbers  cause river has been launched this week as official single and promote with a video and at the top of new music playlists.

Its numbers would be weak after weeks.

FN's numbers just don't seem "high" this days but at the time it was the 5th biggest opening for a female album, 3 songs in the top 10 and 9/ 11 in the top 50. :bird:

and idk, after Flowers performance, Rivers doing Lavender Haze numbers would be an big big underperformance tbh
