but what exactly can she do right now other than Jimmy Fallon and similar? Those performances barely do anything unless you truly do something different that makes people talk about it. 

 

A Disney+ special > Jimmy Fallon, Kimmel, whatever

 

Although it's true that a Fallon performance wouldn't have hurt anybody and at least she could've had her name out there a bit more. 

 

Edit: imo, the problem was relying on Flowers too much. She should've dropped a promo single in the meantime but she chose to drop a demo version no one asked for.

Didnt Pink's promo really help her sales in the end? Miley doesn't have a large enough fanbase and hype to go off without proper promo like Bey or Taylor, I think she should book at least Fallon or something this week.

Yeah she should have done more promo leading up to the album. It feels like they assumed Flowers numbers meant the whole album would be checked out.

 

Does anyone know how other albums did in terms of tracks charting 3 days in? I saw a tweet yesterday saying every track on Taylor's, Ariana's, Dua's, GaGa's, and Billie's last albums were still in the top 200 on day 2. It seems really bad that over half of the tracks on this have dropped off by the 3rd day.

sure, it's bad that she didn't have higher numbers - but look at her career

she hasn't been super huge for 10 years now (and she is an almost 20 year old act)

Compared to her previous era, she is doing better - which is what fans usually compare stats to

it's strange that she didn't do anything this week, not even Zane Lowe interview. even Adele and Harry Styles were promoting their albums on release week. maybe Miley signed an exclusive deal with Disney+ for Backyard Sessions and can't promote her album anywhere else...

Taylor's, Ariana's, Dua's, Gaga's, and Billie's last albums had more songs in the top 200 on day 3. Miley's Plastic Hearts had 5 tracks on its 3rd day.

so at the top 200 charts it did less than flowers 3rd day? 

i've saw and it's stable on AM, she's going to have ""cute"" numbers at the end but it's basically shaping up to be just a plastic hearts sized album when we see the numbers of non-singles at the future.

 

flowers is of course leveraging the total numbers, but the fact that flowers didn't have an impact to make people listen to the others tracks more than they did with plastic hearts is of course telling something. 

 

maybe the sound direction she's went for wasn't it. idk.
