If you listen to the album, it's not even in the top 5 best songs. And when you are bombing this hard, you should plan more carefully. How would she know it would not not well on Spotify before cjosing River? She's not a psychic. Some the posts here making absolutely ZERO sense. Edited March 11, 2023 by Insanity
Paola Bracho Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I read the comments on the ESV thread before I listen to the album. I was shocked with the positive reception but my experience on ATRL made me think that all that reception could only mean 2 things: 1. the album is really bad 2. it's going to flop really hard I'm surprised both of them are actually happening. The album is so underwhelming. I can't believe people called River euphoric. I mean... clean your ears. Flowers being a smash has made you deaf and ready to praise to the heavens even her farts. What kind of bandwagoners! Not gonna lie, I was not expecting that streaming disaster regardless the album quality.
Blue Monday Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Well well well.. I’ve gotta say this is quite interesting considering all I’ve been reading for the last few weeks is how Miley was BACK and was ready to end her peers. She couldn’t even outperform Sweetener despite being in an even friendlier streaming climate with a massive hit to bolster the album, not to mention a solid album campaign
Breathe On Moi Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 you can just tell some ppl were waiting for these numbers yall some sickos!

People are here for that song and that song only. People jumped to conclusions too quick purely off Flowers' success. Same thing happened to Unholy. HUGE and viral song on TikTok, no one compared for Sam's album or Kim's follow up single. Not this random Unholy nonsense talk yet again Stop trying to make that a thing Irrelevant artist getting a faceless hit =/= Miley getting a smash Miss Sam and Kim were always going to flop no matter what, they can only wish they had half of Miley's relevancy

Then why didn't that relevancy transfer to the album as a whole? Just sounds like you're calling Miley faceless. If she's so different, then it should have
Ger Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 He was right with his prediction with Morgan last week. It should be doing 80-100k total at this point, damn

I think it’s more likely they will buy (multiple) copies than stream if they’re older
mypaintoyou Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I love this I told these fans to humble down lmfao thinking Miley was on miss swift level lnfao please,
Schami66 Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I thought she collected many new fans with Plastic Hearts (myself included) but apparently not. That album has amazing songs. I was really hyped for the album tbh but it's verrry mid. If she played her cards right, she can """save""" this era. There are 2-3 songs on there, that she could promote.
CaptainMusic Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 This is really embarrassing More proof that 1 hit doesn’t translate to a successful album
Axelios Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 1 hour ago, Prismee said: my thoughts exactly. after Flowers smashed her old hits and Plastic Hearts songs literally re-entered the charts, that's proof that people cared beyond just Flowers. people were also talking about her New Year special with Dolly, Hannah Montana going viral every other day. there seemed to be real investment in her music by the GP and the buildup was real and then... this. The same think happened to Adele to a lesser extent. Everybody thought she would break Spotify records after Easy On Me.
ALA Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Ooof. I am honestly really surprised it didn't do better.
More Than A Melody Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 1 hour ago, Bloodflowers. said: The over-reactions in here Miley didn't promote or hype album release like she hyped up Flowers + it's an indie album aka there are no friendly singles outside of like 3 songs, one of which is Flowers, so it won't receive any replay value cause its artistry is hard for average, casual listener to grasp. It is what it is, these are great numbers and Miley's biggest streaming debut day yet But you could say this about Harry's House and it got 98.4M on release day (a lot of people will change their tune about the album's sound now, but I was here when it came out and ATRL was saying it wasn't radio friendly, none of the other songs sounded like hits, and the album was gonna bomb and only As It Was would prevail). I like Miley, and I wish her well. I'm happy she's overall doing better than she was doing before, but you can't act like this isn't a massive bomb. If your lead single is a viral worldwide hit, then your album should get boosted, and when it doesn't, something's wrong.
Machete Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) ATRL never learns Y’all set Miley up so bad when it was obvious she was going to underperform Edited March 11, 2023 by Machete
Scott Borchetta Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I blame Britney stans who jinxed her by hiding behind her to drag people they couldn’t with Britney’s own stats for obvious reasons
State of Grace. Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Omg the lashings I listened to the album and yeah it was pretty mid. Hope she comes back with better material next year now that she has really good label support and push on streaming services. Always rooting for Miley to do well. It's funny seeing the clown coming back to bite that one stan here and her stans on Twitter after coming for Ariana and Taylor (!!!!) of all girls though Edited March 11, 2023 by State of Grace.
