CottageHore Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I received my paycheck today like 15 hours late because of this. But yes, these poor old white wealthy hags, let’s cry for them
Orsay Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 omg, I always knew these silicon valley tech start up types were pulling some sort of massive grift..
Delirious Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) edit: some of yall think im celebrating the fact that employees arent getting paid. im not that's horrible and i think they should get paid ASAP. im celebrating the fact that startup culture has finally died and all the rich white men & ******* privledged CEO's will be crying ya know the tips on how I became successful: 1. Wake up at 4am 2. Take cold showers 3. Go for a run 4. Wear a nice suit and tie 5. LETSSSSS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Edited March 11, 2023 by Delirious

Shares will drop massively in the coming week, so if you're able to pull them out temporarily, then yeah. Depends on how you bank but there's only a small charge in Australia; I assume the same is true for you.
Sesame Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Last tweet should be removed since it’s kind of out of context and about Ukraine, but still don’t feel sorry for these losers
Richmond Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Yikes these tech girls have been hitting rock bottom for the last lil while huh
TheBoss Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Wait, I'm a dumb *****, it's this gonna impact banks worldwide or only SVB?
Jotham Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Unfortunately it's not just rich Silicon Valley bros that are going to be affected:
JustLikeHoney Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Roku has like $500M in that bank. it's employees probably won't see paychecks anytime soon. Edited March 11, 2023 by JustLikeHoney
Sombre Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 (edited) Some of you are vile and nasty. This is nothing to clap for and/or celebrate. A lot of people effectively lost the money they've been accumulating all their lives - imagine how this will affect families and lives. What's with this hostility towards people who work in tech? A small business is a mom and pop convenience store who need to sell full stock to cover expenses so that they can pay the mortgage on their one and only moderately-sized single family home. People piloting their first big tech start-up's are not "small businesses". Deposits under $250k are literally insured. No one is basking in anyone's misery. Wealthy people with lots of money made huge mistakes with said money, taking giant risks, and it's reasonable that people do not want the government to bail these entities out.

I was thinking the same thing. I get the whole "eat the rich" mentality but a lot of regular families are terrified of not having access to their money. These people have bills to pay and families to support.
liver Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 having more than 250k in a bank does not make you a rich dude imagine celebrating the fact that people will lose their money and that employees won't get their salaries because many small to medium-sized businesses will go bankrupt?? and ignoring the fact that this will deepen the economic crisis worldwide just because you've read on twitter that anyone who isn't below the poverty line is bad and we should EAT THE RICH some people on this forum are absolute douchebags and need a reality check asap

Obviously no one supports the big CEOs who make huge profits while their employees struggle, but this isn't about mega-wealthy people. These are still 9 to 5 working citizens who have families to support, mortgages to pay, etc. Laughing at this is inhumane.

The majority of money like 99% will still be stashed away for the extremely rich folks and now it's all gone. Edited March 11, 2023 by Delirious
