The "haters can suffer xDD queen of pop!!1!" rhetoric is super annoying when we all know the remix is only credited bc of the pure-sales tricks, spotify auto-play scandal, and the OG being pulled from radio it's especially annoying seeing them claim this as a legit #1 when they've spent the last 4-5 months saying how anti-hero and flowers are frauds that nobody actually likes irl, when this remix is by far the biggest farce of the 3

DFY is not an "inorganic #1" - it only sold around 15k, and it would've done around 6k-8k without these discounts anyways. The song had a lead of around 30/40 points over #2. It would've been #1 even with 8k sales less anyways Also, DFY is #1 on streaming songs (wonder if the discount affected those numbers too ), #3 on the radio and #3 in the sales. It IS the biggest song of the week, no matter if you like it or not Nobody said Die for You isn't the biggest song of the week, I'm saying the remix isn't the biggest song of the week what's so difficult to comprehend

Ger Posted March 8, 2023 Posted March 8, 2023 Chile... at least the thread is active this week I guess...

xfreshkidxx Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Can someone explain how Cuff It is top 10 when its #115 on US Apple and #118 on US Spotify.

The band had already broken up when it reached #1 on the Hot 100 in February 1989. HM: Red Red Wine reached #1 in previous fall (October 1988), after being released in August 1983. Edit: found the list in the article (I was correct) 6 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, “Die for You,” The Weeknd & Ariana Grande (2016-23) 5 years, 8 months, 2 weeks, “When I’m With You,” Sheriff (1983-89) 4 years, 8 months, 2 weeks, “Red Red Wine,” UB40 (1984-88; the pop/reggae classic and Sheriff’s love song above were revived, in part, by adventurous radio exec Guy Zapoleon) 1 year, 2 months, “Heat Waves,” Glass Animals (2021-22) 1 year, 1 month, “Save Your Tears,” The Weeknd & Ariana Grande (2020-21) Ty

It's still in the Top 10 of radio, which carries a lot of weight on the Hot 100. I'm just glad this will be its last week in the Top 10. Morgan's album came at the perfect time because that bottom half of the Top 10 needs a refresh. (I wish one of his new songs were in the Top 10, instead of You Proof, though.)
