Timber Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 (edited) Wonder if Beyonce can make it to the top 10. My dream is that she continues the Renaissance and succesfully releases America Has a Problem, then Heated, then then Alien Superstar, then Summer Renaissance. Edited March 1, 2023 by Timber
swissman Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 YAS Aretha and Diana! I like that they are adjusting for turnover rates (or whatever they call it) so that these lists don't become dominated by this era where entire albums can chart. I am curious though where Destiny's Child would be if they had included groups too.
Klein Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Single poison Taylor Swift being #6 is certainly a surprise.
allforyou Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Janet #3 What a LEGEND! Olivia being in the top 10 The Queen of the 70s and 80s
istan4badgalriri Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Rihanna could've easily been Top 3 if not #2 by now
Cruel Summer Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 How closely does this align with the formula that would actually be used for the Billboard all-time charts?

From what I can tell it IS the formula. There's a community of chart-estimators who go off of the formulas from the last H100 GOAT update and have mostly extended the same multipliers since (so really its only data since mid November 2021 that's not 100% guaranteed). wastedpotential Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 The way Taylor has jumped from 21st to 15th on the all-artist GOAT list since 2018 and only managed to move from 7th to 6th on the female list in the same time is unfortunate

Planet Mars Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Madonna, Mariah, Janet and Whitney being in the Top 4 is very significant, because in many ways they are why ATRL exists today. The whole idea of a "pop" girl, the image, the chameleon, the sex symbol/social justice advocate, the high budget videos, massive global tours, melisma and huge gay followings. It all starts with those 4. They were the first women who came into an industry still dominated by men and carved a lane for themselves and opened the doors for what we see today. You could say it all begins with Diana Ross, and I'd still give her the title of OG pop girl, BUT Madge, Janet, Mariah and Whitney really threw the door open for all of our faves in one way or the other. Every major female artist of the last 30 years has borrowed something from that playbook. Just found their placement very interesting.
Holiest Dreams Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Imagine my shock when I saw Taylor here given how stans say she has no hits
dabunique Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I'm confused why some swifties r tryin to run a narrative when every time she drops an album she has multiple songs chart unlike da Top 4 who didn't benefit from streaming

Only Anti Hero probably has more points than all of her streaming era album tracks combined.
