Lil baby is a high profile gang member who brags about murder. His fan base doesn’t give a damn about Chris brown’s history of domestic abuse.

Most R&B girls have a fan base made up primarily of gay black men and black women who are way more vocal against artists like Chris. And before you bring up Chris brown’s majority female fan base, the black women who listen to him are not the ones who listen to the likes of Chloe and Normani.

If that’s the case they can get gone, they were  not here for hersolo music , they didn’t defend her from Nikki fans when she droppped a song with latto, so here she is. That album is coming one way or another.

all the morals mean nothing if they ain’t loyal it’s just noise.  They talking about all thease male rnb stars she could use that they don’t support eithe. Thease guys gotta work with Justin Bieber to get top tens.

so let her be, and then we can do this again in 4 months when Normani his biggest fan tells you he is on her album too.  Rinse and repeat

This will smash. Chris is sadly still massive and beloved irl and all the twitter hate will just give this more promotion.

Yup they so stupid, the way algorithm works they have booted viewership of her announcements past that of the last single.

the same things happened with Dahmer on Netflix

the same thing happened with Hogwarts legacy.

Why on earth is this a good career move for her?

Why does everyone want to work with him? Ugh. Not listening to this.

A Chloe & Brent collab could have been interesting. They could have served a toxic R&B anthem

!!!! Imagine how good that would be!

Fingers crossed this is…decent.

She's really dumb but oh well. One side said she was doing too much and pandering to them wasn't really doing her career any favors so I guess this is where she's at.

Crack Brown tho...? Seriously :biblio:

Just when you think she couldn’t possibly make this rollout any more chaotic…

Horrible horrible choice and I think I’ve officially lost all faith in her

What Chloe really needs is to stop producing her own music :chick1:

Don't you mean start? She's not a listed producer on the majority of her singles.

The black women who listen to Chloe & Normani definitely listen to Chris Brown - probably 1 to 1.

Chloe & Normani make regular R&B bops (Treat Me, Have Mercy, Wild Side, Fair) - and is targeting the same girls who listen to Chris Brown casually.

As mentioned - this move is just off-brand for her but I also don’t like this trajectory of “career killing” the R&B girls after they work with Chris Brown - while anyone else and Chris Brown himself, keep throwing out hit after hit.

They may be targeting that demographic but they’re clearly failing because none of those songs stuck (apart from wild side but that was thanks to Cardi). The people who actively listen to them and care to check for their new music are definitely not the ones checking for Chris brown.

Also I don’t think any R&B girl has had her career tarnished for collaborating with Chris brown. They just get lashed on social media for a few days and people move on.

Chris Brown's last album got overshadowed by Under The Influence randomly blowing up which was on the album before that

A Chloe & Brent collab could have been interesting. They could have served a toxic R&B anthem

Or serve a healthy and sexy r and b anthem lol I'm really tired of this genre romanticizing problematic relationship dynamics

This duet makes sense radio-wise, but it doesn’t make sense marketing-wise.

This would be the equivalent of Ariana Grande collaborating with Adam Levine or Justin Timberlake for a big single. Yes, radio would play it but her listening base would be very confused. It wouldn’t make sense.

Exactly.

idk why people are saying “she’s gonna do numbers” like her audience is the same as his. this is a mess.

Her fans do not like him and vice versa.

Chloe's fans are irrelevant considering they haven't streamed any of her singles since Have Mercy. Chris obviously massive with urban listeners and even if this single "flops" it will still easily end up bigger than any Chloe single except Have Mercy at least

Oh god, the song actually sounds good and I bet the lyrics kinda ate.

i just dont understand why so many female black artists still support him (Ciara, Kelly Rowland, Normani, Sevyn, Zendaya, Taraji P. Henson, Jordin Sparks). Like it’s not even support, they even rave over him. Nobody has ever denied his talent but his behavior was/is simply disgusting.

Also Chloe could‘ve chosen so many other male R&B artists like Frank Ocean,  Anderson Paak, John Legend, Ne-Yo, 6lack, Brent Faiyaz, Bryson Tiller, Miguel, Elijah Blake. Even poppier artists like The Weeknd or Bruno. Why Chris Brown? Why?

Oh it seems like she only did work on Have Mercy and Treat Me. Whoever is giving her this Empire music needs to be arrested.

Yeah, her "audience" dragging her on Twitter haven't supported any of her singles in any significant way since Have Mercy and I don't believe they were streaming her anyway. If she would have gone with Lucky Daye, I don't think it would have garnered as much attention or support. Sadly, Chris has a fanbase and is an urban radio staple. Having him on a song will give her access & exposure she hasn't had before. That's just the reality, unfortunately. Personally, I would have preferred Usher if she wanted an R&B legend. I think they would sound incredible on a record.

In the end of the day, this is lowkey true. However - some prefer quality over social media engagement. This feat clearly happened to spike the conversation, and it worked.
