Something Real ended up freefalling after, I dont remember it being that high 1st week. But that's definitely bad for Chloe then:skull: Guessing the YouTube music video streams are better than Summer's though. Also the Hot 100 was much more competitive in 2019 I guess

Her relationship with Shermay is very concerning.

She says in her story that she’s teaching her to be a “smart businesswoman”. Shermay has zero credibility when it comes to doing business, especially in the music industry. Then she’s pushing her creative direction onto Chloe. Did she just pick this woman off the street to assist her with her career? She doesn’t have a resume.

This has Sidney Hicks 2.0 written all over it. Chloe is lost.

This is very weird. You need to go touch some grass.

Normani and Chloe rly be following the Tinashe path

a trendsetter :clap3:

Don’t include Normani. She never made a song with Chris Brown and Fair had better streaming numbers than this and Lottery by Latto (two recent songs that came out) without any of the push or controversies. :bird:

OT: This will rebound when radio kicks in if they ever send it. Columbia’s worst idea was dropping this song with 0 radio deal/push. The streams would have stabilized better too.

Giving it the benefit of the doubt that it was just outside US Spotify Top 200 its 1st day.

That same ratio would mean it did 200k in the US today. Which is 500k in 2 days from US Spotify.

That’s not a collab. Let’s be very clear. Chris has had a lot of leading women in his videos. It’s not a big deal as a whole collab that you gotta promote with his name and influence on it.

Normani did like 1 IG reel and retweet about it and dipped. Tinashe, Chloe and others spammed links to buy and stream. Apples and Oranges methinks :lakitu:

No. The relationship is weird.

Why are you taking business and creative advice from a woman that has never been involved with artist management, or has never been on the executive board for a label? She states she’s a life coach. She isn’t even with Parkwood.

If you’re going to pursue a career in the medical field, would you let the mechanic who works at the local car shop guide your every move and give you advice on becoming a surgeon? Or would you have someone in the actual field as your mentor?

Chris Brown can’t even sell his own songs. He gets lucky with the occasional hit, but most of his solo singles bomb hard. I mean, the leads from his last couple of projects are a prime example.

Hasn't he got a huge hit every year since 2019?:rip:

He was in dry spell from 2015 to 2018

Are you listening to me, Brandon? I am talking about his solo singles. When he is his own draw. Drake and Young Thug features don’t count.

He's the lead artist on those songs though, they just dont get erased from his catalogue cuz he featured a artist :rip:

What would be Drake's last solo hit? Toosie Slide? He's always featuring rappers lately

Yeah, but you can’t deny that Drake and Thugger significantly helped, especially when he can’t get his own big solo hit. Drake is Drake. He currently has a platinum album charting top 10 while Chris Brown does not.  You could say that those features did nothing for Chris.  Iffy hugely flopped, Warm Embrace hugely flopped, and Call me Everyday hugely flopped after No Guidance and Go Crazy. All of the singles from Indigo except No Guidance straight up flopped or underperformed. Even going back to Full Moon and Royalty you can see that most of those singles bombed. Chris Brown’s drawn has always been hyped up. He’s cute for an Urban hit, but he damn sure isn’t going to bring anybody mainstream success when he can’t do that for himself.

Iffy is literally excruciatingly  horrible, that had no chance of being a hit:skull:

Warm Embrace is ok, but kind of generic. It wouldn't be a huge hit. Probably would have performed slightly better a few years ago.

Call Me Everyday isnt solo since it has Wizkid but that's not exactly a commercial song although it's much better than the other two

His solo songs dont hit as hard for years now, but he's over a decade past his prime anyway.

Under The Influence is probably his biggest solo hit since Dont Wake Me Up

Which is why the whole bet on Chris Brown for a hit thing is stupid. Again, he only tends to get hits when he is featured on records with men who are already established/popular. It’s not because it’s Chris Brown, but Chris Brown featuring XYZ.

I don’t count Under The Influence. That was solely the work of Tik Tok who usually throw the album out with the bath water. However, let’s see how that manifest with his next era.

I agree with this sorta. I don’t think Chris has sold a completely solo single (ignoring anything that popped off on tiktok) since 2015. He always needs a collab or viral trend." Chris, Meek Mill, and Future are 3 strong examples of that.

They used to get completely solo moderate hits and now they can’t even do that. They all rely on Drake or Travis Scott or some more relevant artist to save em.

With that said, Chris does make other people’s songs do well. Not consistently anymore, but he has been a strong feature so it makes sense why Chloe’s team would go for him instead of a 6lack, Lucky Daye, Bryson, etc.

y’all are so ******* weird.

#1: that’s her godmother, who you can clearly see has essentially taken over the parenting role of her after she explicitly said her relationship with her parents has gone in a not so great direction.

#2: you don’t need to be well-versed in the music business specifically to instil certain necessary traits that do help a person become more business-minded like being strong willed and having thicker skin, two things that chloe has said she’s grown to learn and have throughout this process.

moral of the story: stop talking **** about people you don’t know while simultaneously believing you know everything. i swear it bothers me to no end when y’all go after celebrities loved ones who genuinely care about them for no reason at all

That is the point I was making. They chose him because he is the default r&b guy if you’re going to do a duet/feature. But it was a gamble that doesn’t look like it’s paying off. She really didn’t need this song after Pray It Away anyway. They’re in the same family as nonevent r&b songs. One after the other seems like sabotage. Her team is weird.
