Flare Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) This was not worth the controversy. It’s bombing. Chloe Bailey messed up so bad. Imagine if her label wasn’t cheap and paid for the Weeknd instead. Whole era would be saved. Now she pissed off her core fans and the GP that was defending the song isn’t even streaming or buying. Labels need to realize that Shaderoom audience does not support music. Tiktok and Gen Z are the main audience Edited February 24, 2023 by Flare
Stepfon Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 This is a whole lot of just nothing, all the controversy just for the song to be a pointless one is sending me. Chloe just isn't meant to be a solo artist.

Tiktok and Gen Z are the main audience They support music, just not Chloe's They always thought she was doing too much or was annoying before Also they posted the song on The Shaderoom Teens as well, not just the main one. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cou0ygZADQi/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Edited February 24, 2023 by Armani?
James_XL Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 So she risked losing lots of fans for a mediocre song that's not making ANY noise anywhere?
magazine Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 it's a cute lil song and the video looks beautiful but is it a flop? Oh yes!
iConic Legend Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 This will be a hit and miss for most but a slow minor hit for her. Urban songs are usually slow at rising.

The last song Shaderoom helped push was Glorilla’s first single and she was already viral on tiktok and twitter. The song before that was Hrs and Hrs by Muni Long but that was HELLA viral on IG reels and Tiktok before they posted it. Shade Room audiences literally treated Ice Spice poorly and said she would go nowhere, yet now she’s smashing. They don’t support much with likes and comments and honestly, they only support drama. So they supported Chris Brown and Chloe for drama then left the song to rot. Very typical.

Bryan Spears Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Loved her in Chloe x Halle and thought everything up to Treat Me was cute but I'm over it. Her fans aren't streaming this and neither is the GP

Freaky Prince Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 The original 4 singles were all stellar bops, but yall decided to bully her away for no reason. So now sit through these bores.
*-ChriZ-* Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 Some people are just not meant to be stars Shes the perfect example of selling out and losing herself in Hollywood

She was just mishandled so poorly after Have Mercy. She had tiktok and the US in the palm of her hand then they dropped Treat Me way after the fact and ruined it all. She should have dropped some kind of collab with a big name like Doja after that and got an EP or album out. Then, we wouldn’t have had to suffer under the Gunna drama, lollipop video drama, etc.

Gen Z nowadays is so fickle and feels like any type of criticism is "dimming their light".

Space&Time Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 I’m so confused and concerned for Chloe’s career. On the one hand she is immensely talented as a singer/writer/producer and as a performer has the potential to follow in Beyonce’s footsteps. But something just is not clicking. It doesn’t feel like her moment, and it should. I actually like all of the singles she’s released, but none of them, including HDIF says “I’m here”. She needs her own Crazy in Love. Everyone doesn’t have the same career trajectory though. Who knows maybe there’s a smash waiting haphazardly explode sitting on her album somewhere. I hope she at least can squeak out a Gold album certification and at least 1 undeniable hit single from this debut era and she can always come back harder next time.

It’s because she wanted to be famous too early. Before her debut, DC was extremely popular with countless number ones and Beyoncé was a rising star. C&H ditched the group while they’re slowing rising. They earned their first chart entry and received acclaims with UH, with maybe two more albums. They could’ve been bigger. Chloe wants to sell something which isn’t clicking with the GP

They just say “it’s all my haters!1!1” and keep falling down the same path with their yes men (in the management/close circle/fanbase) overhyping any little thing they do. 32 minutes ago, ToraeGilt said: I forgot about that lollipop video. What was she thinking? The Lollipop video was definitely the SHIFT for Chloe because a lot of people stopped taking her serious then and she became corny permanently. Corny artists usually face a lot of backlash but they’re usually in pop not r&b so it’s easily to turn it camp and move on (see: Meghan Trainor or Lizzo).
