It's weird, it's like with every single she releases she's less and less musically involved. :skull: Which is bizarre considering Chloe was the sole producer (and wrote with Halle) on so much Chloe x Halle music.

she executive produced the album & there’s only 1/2 songs she didn’t write lol relax!

I'm talking about her singles. She wrote and produced "Have Mercy" and then from there, she was less and less involved. It's just strange.

I understand that, unfortunately that’s prob just the label pushing her to have a hit sadly but we know how that goes nowadays lmao

Pray It Away was the worst thing she could’ve released as a lead. I don’t trust her taste anymore but we’ll see how this goes

Oh so Pray It Away is over now :rip:

This reeks of desperation for a hit which, even if this somehow becomes a hit, is incredibly disappointing. I was rooting for her but I can’t support this

I agree. I love her but I don’t get why so many people in the industry keep acting like he’s not an abusive psychopath with the way he has treated so many women in his life. It’s extremely disappointing and I don’t think this is going to help her even if it is a ‘hit’ - people who are fans of this clown are not going to care about Chloe or support her solo career.

Also Chloe could‘ve chosen so many other male R&B artists like Frank Ocean,  Anderson Paak, John Legend, Ne-Yo, 6lack, Brent Faiyaz, Bryson Tiller, Miguel, Elijah Blake. Even poppier artists like The Weeknd or Bruno. Why Chris Brown? Why?

You really think Frank would do a collab with chlöe? :rip:

It should be label job to tell the artist ”no” when the song is bad. Don’t know why they letting her  release all those s**** songs

A part of me wants to believe she's saving the gems for a CxH reunion, but it's probably not the case. :rip:

When people called her the new Normani I thought it was a compliment but it was clearly an insult

I hate the fact I’m probably going to love the video because they’ll give incredible choreography 🫤

The lashings are never-ending on my feed:dies: I'm hoping her choreography heavy side STOMPS

What can be said that hasn’t already been said.

I'm disappointed by the feature as there are fare more interesting r&b male names out right now. It just deflated any excitement.

atrl hates it so we have a smash on our hands i fear :duca:

Baffles me why she'd choose to work with him, so disappointing

That snippet is the best thing she has released as a soloist. That being said, I think it's fair for people to voice not favoring this collab. Her discord is censoring tf out of peoples opinions :skull: saying it should be a 'safe space' for her and deleting negative posts about the song. Fans have a right to say they don't like some ****, and yeah in the age of social media critiques are more in your face. That said, some of the replacements people are naming don't make any sense either.

It should be this level, which is probably the best Chris collab.

This is going to end up bigger than Have Mercy isn’t it? It’s always the songs the artists don’t write or produce on. These random ass shelved/passed on demos always eating.

Not interested in this, but still confused as to why "Treat Me" and "Surprise" weren't big hits. I love both songs!

It actually makes sense, when considering how labels typically work. They've been seeing diminishing returns with each new release that followed her sole hit Have Mercy. As much as I'm sure the label enjoys her being a workhorse, the output isn't sticking. So, they're snatching back the control and using their "tried and true" hitmaker in Chris Brown to assist.

Such are label and publishing deals that I wouldn't even be surprised if the other writers/producers involved have deals with the label that make a release like this circularly beneficial. Put simply, it's routine for releases like to be used to kill a number of birds with the same stone.

I always saw Pray It Away as more of an introduction/buzz single.

That said, sis NEEDS this to stick. Even if the album comes out and tanks (which is sadly likely will), this song (or a song) needs to be a hit. Hope there are other smart features too.
