MadOnHer Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 What is inescapable is that Madonna is the most successful female recording artist of all time, the highest grossing female touring artist of all time and is also one of the most critically acclaimed female artists of all time. Now which of Gaga's accolades compare to any of these? I would say it's patently obvious why she started out wanting a career like Madonna's and it's nothing to be ashamed of!

Isaac19709 Posted February 6, 2023 Posted February 6, 2023 This is a strange narrative. Nobody wants to be anything like Madonna. She's vastly overrated. Working with different producers to get a different sound every album doesn't mean she should get the credit for it. Her film career tanked and she hasn't made much good music since the 90s aside from one album (Confessions) which was lyrically weak anyway.

I like some of her music but … She is losing it all, newer artists just over surpassed her she is not a big thing now, ppl is not interested in her music anymore, look at her spotify stats She feels like an old school but she didnt offer talent Gaga is more talented and her music is more remembered than madonna’s songs right now. Gaga is on her right way by far. Obviously generations change and she cannot stay forever being huge, Sinatra, MJ, all lost popularity at some point, that doesn't take away all they've done.

And yet her 2023/2024 tour is already projected to gross more than Gaga's last two tours combined HeR MuSiC iS MoRe ReMeMbEred they debuted 30 years apart. I guess artists who debuted in 2015+ are also "more remembered" than Gaga by the same logic pfft

Madonna fans are not even very present on social media. have you even seen the hate she gets? how is that possible when her fans have "dupe accounts"? and we all know gaga fans pretty much started the whole concept of "stan wars" online when twitter started. they went out of their way in an attempt to destroy pretty much every "rival" of gaga. poor christina STILL gets called a "copycat" to this day Edited February 7, 2023 by wanderlust

She gave more Gwen Stefani than she did Madonna on The Fame. the BTW is the only Madonna sounding song she has (to me). please also note I haven’t listened to any of her albums after the 1 she featured r Kelly on.

What about all the talented acts who didn't win Grammys and Oscars like Queen and Abba? Is Lady Gaga better than them because they don't have them? Madonna's true competitors were Whitney, Janet and Mariah. Lady Gaga was put together by a team with Madonna in mind. A pity her candle (music career) burned out so fast.
