Is Taylor sincere with her inclusivity protocol or is it just her business agenda?

I have no reason to believe it isn't genuine - it's interesting that her personal social circle doesn't reflect this inclusivity but you can't blame someone for not having specific type of friends

its probably both? it was probably a conscious decision, which is great that she is giving him that platform. the only people talking about it are her fans, which she probably knew would happen. both parties win.

at the end of the day, speculating about this is kinda weird.

She’s a capitalist machine. Every move she makes is with the intent of increasing profit via the exploitation of her cult. Diversity and Inclusivity are in right now. Her business model just reflects that.

This doesn’t just apply to her. Take a look at every current major business model. Most usually have a statement championing for inclusivity. I doubt she (or anyone really) truly care about those issues. :lakitu:

Taylor should learn from Rihanna and invite johnny depp to one of her music videos if she wants to increase her profits :giraffe:

Of course is all scripted and PR, as if non-white people just became eligible to appear in her videos from Lover onwards :rip:

Not really holding it against her, since most of ATRL's faves are enterprises with a PR machine behind them.

She has dated a laundry list of famous men and 100% of them have been white. Definitely comes off as disingenuous to me.

Does she not literally admit to her own "covert narcissism disguised as altruism" in her own hit song?

Not that she's the only one, this is pretty much the standard now for politicians and celebs

Who cares what is her reasoning? It's not like we know her personally anyway.

The fact is that she gives a platform to underrepresented people and that's it. She is not making a whole circus out of it like 'oh look how good of a person I am'. That's perfectly fine and this is important. She does it.

Why always the need of questioning the motives of everyone everytime they do something good? Like this is such a weird behaviour. If you wonder if she's genuine, do you think it'd be better for her to only have white people in her videos? :rip:

She gets called out for only having white love interests in her videos, then she changes it, and then she's only doing it for money :rip:  What is she supposed to do?

Looks sincere, she does it and it's not like look at me, look at me I put this trans boy here or this gay there, she just does it and bounce.

At the end even if it wasn't sincere, it gives visilibility to minorities which is what we need right now.

I don't know why she can't do good and grow as a person without some people saying she has other motives, it's not good enough, etc.  It just kinda shows that I think you might need to check the bias you have against her that you're trying to project onto her actions.  I get that her activism during YNTCD seemed like a lot at once, but she was honest in interviews at the time and her Miss Americana doc about why she was scared to speak up in her earlier years (even though she did, plenty of times, which people kind of ignore) and how she regretted not doing more sooner.  She put actual action behind it...promoting the Equality Act, petitions to the White House, huge donations, etc.

She has talked about how she genuinely wants to do better and grow as a person, and she has.

Most of the roles in the YNTCD video were people she had friendships with.  And the ones she didn't know beforehand only had great things to say.

Her love interest in the Lover video is Christian Owens, one of her backup dancers for years.

Her love interest in the Willow video is Taeok Lee, who has been her dancer and friend for even longer.

Putting a transgender actor as the lead in Lavender Haze is amazing representation.

This feels rather genuine. She doesn’t make a whole fuzz about it and it works very well. Unlike that music video where she used a bunch of gays :rip:. That was clearly PR motivated.

Also though, she isn't flaunting her friends these days like she was 10 years ago, she's pretty private. And that said, she has shown inclusivity in her friends (whenever she's shown them).

Well, ask the people in these videos how they feel about it :michael:

The way OTH contort themselves in pretzels to find ways to complain no matter what she does will never not be a kii.

why? I have a whole course about corporate inclusion & diversity and there are many businesses that are strategically utilizing underrepresented groups to improve their image.

I agree with you. But what is your proposed solution to this? Keeping the status quo of straight whiteness in everything? :skull:

This is the kind of "analysis" from fellow people on the left that I dislike, because it's full of complaining but light on actual ways to improve things.

they probably want her to scissor women in her videos at this point

OT: it doesn't matter what we think, in a time when trans people are under attack we need positive representation like this

Gaga paid an abuser in her last tour, someone who was denounced by her own dancers and she still keep him and ignore the victims
