Maybe Putin has a point about Ukraine having a Nazi problem (not that he or Russia is any better though in that regard)

Those who complain can go back to warzones they left. Nobody is d

stopping them.

Why is anyone surprised? If you've never experienced diversity and grew up surrounded by people who like like you, you're going to be shocked when you're the only white person in the neighborhood.

They can get used to it or leave.

she had probably never seen South Asians in her life and Birmingham is like 30% Muslim

serving that ATRL post "this place is too gay even for me"

Told yall, this is why black people have to ALWAYS be cautious of where we send our loyalties and who we ally with. These same people will stab us right in the back when they feel comfortable enough to do so.

The nerve to be bigoted when your country is literally being destroyed and you’re being displaced because of it:rip:

Not even remotely surprised by this, but let me not say anymore :gaycat6:

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...

I always wonder what the point of threads like this is besides to sow more division. Like is there some magical country where bigoted attitudes don’t exist among some of the populace?

Maybe they (only the racist Ukranians) should try seek refuge in Serbia instead

I can't speak for exactly why the OP posted the thread, but clearly it is a noteworthy story in highlighting that, even in situations where kindness and compassion are being shown, some of those in receipt of that goodwill can still find the time and space to perpetuate racism. It is bewildering.

There is no such "magical country" but that doesn't mean we should just stand by and not CHECK people for negative attitudes that have no place in the struggle for a more harmonious and equal society.

Welcome to humanity, how are *you* checking them by posting an ATRL thread? I mean already in this thread we have people talking about Ukraine having a Nazi problem, what productive discourse is this particular thread producing besides “Ukraine bad”

This is so stupid. :deadbanana4:

Every country has racist people, including your own. Why should a small portion of them affect your perceptions on war refugees when so many of them are grateful for their new accommodations?

You are making no point. So you're suggesting that "these threads" should just not be posted? That these issues should just not be discussed?

It's not a case of "Ukraine bad" at least not for me. That is an abstraction and not what I'm saying.

The reality is, there are certain people fleeing the warzone, moving to the U.K to accept safety placements and then throwing those placements back because "there are too many Muslims, too many black people" in the safe area they were placed. That is wrong. Period. The situation should not absolve those particular people of condemnation for prejudice of that degree. If you disagree, then there's not much more to discuss and that is a shame.

Not surprised. I remember those stories of black Ukranians being refused passage on trains leaving the affected areas. It's probably only just certain groups of people though.
