HeavyMetalAura Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Haters are so dumb Y’all really think Columbia is giving more money to payola a new Miley Cyrus single than they did Adele, Harry Styles, and Beyoncé? Miley Cyrus, who hasn’t hit the top ten in years? Miley, whose last album debuted with 60k? Miley, who hasn’t been a superstar with a “big” era in a literal decade? You really think they gave her Adele money? Please. Flowers is on track to outdo As It Was, Break My Soul, and Easy on Me, but I’m quite confident no one was expecting this from someone who — and I hate to say it, I’m a Miley stan, but let’s be real — has been kind of a flop for the last ten years. I promise y’all Columbia did not plan to put too much money into her. Sure, they have connections, the radio support and play listing certainly helps, but please your brains. Songs blowing up unexpectedly and out of nowhere is not uncommon in the streaming era. The Weeknd’s latest singles all flopped but an album track from 2016 is becoming a huge hit. Olivia Rodrigo debuted at number one and broke records with a debut single - quite literally barely anyone knew her name a week prior. These things happen now. But y’all are out here thinking Columbia is buying Miley “Hasn’t Seen Number One Since 2013” Cyrus adele numbers

shark_heather Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 I think there is NO REASON AT ALL for live performances at the moment The song is smashing like no other song by itself Its literally everywhere The only problem is that nobody knows about the album ... so at least one week before the album release , SHE SHOULD promote it somehow ... But if she is saving the promo budget for future singles , i dont see why is that a problem

despy Posted February 19, 2023 Author Posted February 19, 2023 i'm gonna need that demi stan to leave these threads alone cuz chile... it's clear you're just pressed af that miley is earning the success demi won't ever have no one is denying any of the bs you've been talking about for the looonggggest time. just quit it already damn
biomind101 Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 That Demi stan needs to leave if he or she is gonna stay this pressed by Miley’s success
SpaceOddity Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 I was at a house party, there was music playing in the background that no one really paid any mind to and literally all of us started singing the chorus the second this came up, it's a smash, no ifs or buts lol.
schnetzka Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 The album is only weeks away and we know nothing except the cover and first single. I wonder if they'll sprinkle information out in the coming weeks or reveal it all at once.
Popboi. Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 At this point, just reveal everything really close to the album release, that worked for Harry, Beyoncé and Taylor.

I am a huge Miley fan especially of her singles and of her as person and celebrity??? I am so confused. So y'all saw I stan Demi, which is COMPLETELY unrelated to this thread or Miley, then assumed I hate Miley and am applauding Columbia AND HER OWN ARTISTRY as hate? Not at all, the logic could not be more wrong. I literally said multiple times it's MANY FACTORS including a label change, because Midnight Sky did not get this blow up despite being the better song with a similar narrative. All I said was that the streaming and radio support this time played a role in the massiveness that is Flowers. Everyone needs to calm down, this is basic knowledge and not a diss to anyone. I am sincerely rooting for Miley, I hope I fully enjoy this album and that this era continues to be massive.

If only they sent her songs to radio and cared!! She’d be just as big!! ’ like it’s 2012. Even after all those radio gouging, Dua Lipa chart trickery tacked on ‘hits’ from TMYLM, Demi still didn’t turn into a star and swiftly declined. Get it through your thick skulls that she will NEVER see this success. Miley’s comeback is built on her doing whatever she wants her entire career with talent and 0 regrets along the way. When you have that reputation and hold to it, people will always keep a tab on you. Demi only does things when it’s safe to copy (Confident/Bangerz, HOLYFVCK/return of Pop Rock in 2021) and looks like a dated, parody rendition by the time does it. Not even Taylor can pull off a Flowers - an artist with 100% label support and boyfriend dedicated lyrics to spare. Yet somehow for Miley it’s because she signed a good contract. So despicable that you lot run around the forum with these talking points. Enough How did y'all manage to make an existing conversation that was happening in this thread, about the label support being a factor in the massivensss of Flowers, about me being a hater and stanning another artist (which I stan multiple artists), that is completely unrelated. I literally echoed other commenters in here and still gave so much credit to Miley and the narrative of the song, etc. That one post with an essay on another artist I stan, I got two sentences in and immediately reported for being completely off topic, I did not understand a thing that was said. This thread is about Endless Summer Vacation. If I am pressed abou Miley's success, I wouldn't say it's well deserved and that she should not release the 2nd single until a week before album release so that Flowers can continue building off its success.
smoore95GAGA Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Is anyone else concerned that we’re less than 3 weeks away and we’ve gotten no tracklist or even announcement of a second single

No detracting from it. I am sure they will start tracklist reveal and second single rollout around next week

Scars Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Going by the dynamic on her discord, we'll probably get the tracklist on 03/06.
smoore95GAGA Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 I was thinking/hoping we’d be getting the 2nd single a week before the album like Prisoner, but that seems pretty unlikely now. They really are going all in on Flowers, which ig makes sense. But damn if I haven’t been well over that song for weeks now
BadX Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Miley…. Do something insiders… what is she even doing for the album?
MALAMENTE Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 I hate when artists and labels do this like just release the tracklist. It ain’t that serious
CottageHore Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 I adore Miley but I haven’t listened to this track in weeks. I can only replay the same song so many times, babe! Let’s put out the next one or at least give us an interview or performance to enjoy. This song is so massive, she should be taking advantage of it and getting her face out there again. She’d be the IT GIRL

Don't worry Miley's new team is smart and she has genuine hype. This era will continue to be amazing. I definitely see a second single coming shortly before album release though.
Itz_Dani! Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 2nd singles are only necessary when the dates for the lead single release and album release are very far apart , I.e. 3+ months. The gap between Flowers (1/13) and ESV (3/10) is not that long, close to but not even 2 full months. For a gap that close it is not really necessary for an artist to release a 2nd pre-album single, SPECIALLY if the lead is smashing or doing well. Though she can probably release a 2nd song as a promo song, probably the Friday before or a few days before the release, like on Tuesday on Wednesday.
