Wonder if this is gonna be an light-PH?

Do we have any news about that or a direction?

I only know of older producer from Bangerz, but it feels it's gonna be totally different

I wonder what sonic elements will be present throughout this album? I would love her to tap in to the Beach Boys type of sound, I feel like it would fit the concept/aesthetics and compliment the current single. She also has the vocals to carry that kind of sound.

I’m hoping for a balance between disco elements and acoustic elements, but I doubt that’s what we’ll get lol.

Same. I want a beachy sound that’s grungier with real instrumentation. Something cohesive and timeless. I’m ready for Miley to finally serve CONCEPT and COHESION  Mariah Carey Yes GIF

Imagine if she saved Angels Like You for this album and released it as the follow-up to Flowers :jonny5: Truly could have been a Someone Like You sized follow-up to her Rolling in the Deep :weeps: Crying at what could have been!

projections for this album ? plastic hearts did 40k streaming and 20k pure sales.. I think she can at least DOUBLE both numbers.. so 80k streaming plus 40k pure... so I'm estimating 120-140k first week sales.  could possibly be higher.

I just hope she gets a #1 again and 100k+ on the first week.

We never know... Sam Smith's debut number are a mess.

Announcing the album before Flowers was kinda a mistake

I think it would've driven album sales WAY more if she announced the album a week after Flowers or even now.

No one could have predicted a smash like this, one of the reasons of Flowers being so successful is the reception/hype towards the album announcement/artwork :michael:

Oh my god, the SLAYAGE that would've been...  I just want to cry every time I remember what a CRIME they committed with the rollout of that album.

Sam also is one of the most hated celebs right now 💀

People were pumped at the start of Unholy but THEIR (see mods I used it!) performances and overall messy Shane Dawson appearance made people tune out.

Miley is only getting love for Flowers. Her opening week will be 100k+ easily.

I was at The Toyota Dealership getting my car serviced today. Their playlist consisted solely of Miley (although no Flowers). While sitting in the waiting area, a nearby elderly couple were talking about Miley. He did not know who she was, the wife said that she used to be married to Thor’s brother and then broke up. She likes that new song about the breakup. Miley is touching all generations!

This thread being inactive for almost a week :deadbanana2: Flowers smashing unexpectedly must have changed her album rollout to capitalize more on her biggest hit in recent memories. Please book more performances or just talk more about the album in general girl :cries:

this... where is the PH-sized promo :cries:

There’s no point in her talking about the album as of yet. I’m sure more promo will come during the 2 weeks before the release. It’s perfect to start building hype and focus on that, at the moment Flowers is the moment.

The problem is that with Midnight Sky, she was booking performances even if they were just pre-recorded remote stuff so the era felt more alive. This time around it seems they're focusing more on playlisting and Miley herself is radio silent so it just feels kinda lacking imo. It definitely makes sense to ramp up album promos like a month before release tho.

And that's how it works now, no one cares about live performances in 2023.

They should keep the second single for album release as Flowers will be too dominant to do anything. By the time the album releases the song will be #1 for 7 weeks and for the album release tracking week it will be its 8th week at #1. The second single will probably go Top 10 or maybe even #2 because the album will boost Flowers too much to do anything. They will need to navigate around it and find a way to extend the era further than album release.

I kinda wish she didn't announce the album release date honestly.

She should have dropped 2 singles and launched the album with the 3rd one. Easy way to book 3 #1 smashes. Now I'm expecting whatever song they push in March to be Late Night Talking'd and blocked/overshadowed since Flowers is shaping up to be even bigger than As It Was so far.

That's because traditional promo was the only thing RCA had going on for her, everything else was a mess. The playlisting for Midnight Sky was mediocre and it was lacking on radio too.

The ground work was necessary because that's how we got Heart of Glass and all the performances that gave her exposure during that era, but she's in a different (and better) position now, considering how things work in the music industry nowadays.

Having said that, I miss Miley performing too. It's a shame she won't perform Flowers for the first time at the BRITs though, given they're a very loyal market to her.

Yeah the album release is too soon imo. This is probably gonna be another Harry’s House situation where the whole era is one major single :penguin:

That's what Columbia do. Look at Adele  as well. EOM and then they dropped all the promo. The same thing will happen with Miley

32 pages and not even a track list. :jonny6: whew, we really are ready for her, aren’t we?

I agree a SOUR-like album rollout would've been ideal for ESV, but no one expected Flowers to be this big, so it's understandable Columbia wanted to make sure the album was going to be released while the single was still hot.

Either way, Dejavu was initially overshadowed by Driver's License too until it had a better peak with the album release, so we never really know these days.

It’s Columbia’s strategy (which pisses me off), but it’s just the way the world is now :doc:

I was just gonna say too nn. I feel like Colombia know how to launch an era with the lead singles but then drop the ball. Both Harry and Adele's era were basically defined by the lead singles but then again both albums were considered a downgrade from their previous efforts iirc.

ESV will for sure be better than 30/Harry's House imo :oh: so she might snatch more Top 10s, Top 5s :gaycat5:
