you're questioning the science, cause you don't understand
how i'm doing what i'm doing in a f*cking handstand
you found it so impressive that i do it again
my other one is busy, so i use my left hand
we took it kinda fast but you put it in slow
i see your mother's calling and you're hitting ignore
it's like you saw a unicorn, you don't understand
how i'm doin' what i'm doin' in a f*cking handstand

He found the album very safe, 4/10. Kinda funny that his favourite songs are You and Wonder Woman which are the least liked by fans.

That's the exact score I gave it before Fantano reviewed it! Someone can quote me, but I said I'd give it a C- which equates to a 4/10. He liked Handstand but didn't care for the intro. I love the intro but whatever. Also, put me in the camp that found You and Wonder Woman to be snoozefests, but ballads can go either way for Fantano, so I can't say I'm THAT shocked he liked those tracks.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes River. It's just too busy and dated. Great that the Smilers like it, but if they want a pop-bop, Party in the USA is leagues better.

A 40% is inarguably a D or an F on any grading scales lol. C- would be a 6/10

Fun fact: Fantano’s track record does not warrant anybody giving a **** about his opinion

Backyard Sessions did wonders at least for me ...

Island and Rose Colored Lenses are on repeat the last few days

Jaded and Thousand Miles being up there

River remains the ultimate gay banger

You and Muddy Feet are great tracks

Violet Chemistry aged not so well for me . Wonder Woman is the only skip . Wildcard is ok

The album was relesead less than a week ago but the era already feels so dead. :deadbanana4:

Not releasing one more single before the album release was a mistake, they picked the wrong song for the second single and we're completely in the dark about her future move or if there'll even be one. I know some girls will be upset with my impatient self for saying this, but ugh I miss Plastic Hearts era so bad. We didn't have Billboard by our side, but we were fed with all the content and promo. :giraffe:

On an American grading system for academic work, sure, a C would be a 70-79. And a C- would look closer to anything above 65 and less than 70.

A C and a 5/10 to me are both AVERAGE. A C- and a 4/10 are both BELOW average. To me, a grading scale for music/films is vastly different than a grading scale for academic work.

If I didn't use a C-, I would've said 4/10 or a 2/5. I thought the album was below average. To me, a C is average. A C- would then mean below average.

And, yes, I am well aware that Fantano will most likely never meet me, and even if he did, he is his own person, with his own intimate circle of friends that I will never be a part of. And that is totally fine. I've disagreed with Fantano before-- hell, I even think You and Wonder Woman are not the best tracks on ESV, but you can agree with a music critic that shares your opinion. That doesn't discredit your opinion.

I like the album but this is her worst era yet apart from the cute lil numbers Flowers pulled and the nice visuals. What a snoozefest. How's your album called Endless Summer Vacation but its camapaign lacks any excitement or fun? A mess and a half.

why does this sound so melodramatic :deadbanana2:

Anyway, who cares about melonhead's opinion. Dead Petz and SIC were too edgy, ESV is not edgy enough yaddayadda, same with pitchfork, she just can't do right to them simply based on a weird personal bias they have against her. Not that it matters but ARTV gave the album a 4/5 so there's that :giraffe:

I mean, I care about Anthony Fantano's opinion for the same reason people follow certain music/film critics. They typically share opinions of these critics, so if there's a new album coming out a critic they respect praises, they're more likely to check it out. I actually found a lot of great artists like Death Grips and Black Dresses because of Anthony Fantano. I'm sure there's people that need to share Anthony's opinion on everything, but it's great to also discover new music.

Rose Colored Lenses could easily blow up on Tik Tok, it has that Bad Habit/Meet Me At Our Spot vibe. That and Jaded should be massive hits, absolute anthems.

I never said you can’t agree with him. The latter of my comment was speaking generally to the thread, not you. I don’t care :rip:

the absolute lack of content or effort from her and columbia this era is starting to quickly dampen my enjoyment of the album :rip: Like her songs just LIVE from live performances and the energy she and her band give them (as proven by the BYS)... But yeah now that the first hype has settled, I'm comfortable ranking this somewhere in the upper middle of her discography after Bangerz, PH and Dead Petz :giraffe:

hate this era, boring, 0 contents.

The album is good btw, not the best she can do but it’s good. i hope she will release more music during the year

Watching the Disney backyard sessions made the songs that I was unsure of click tbh. Island is so so good :jonnycat:

WHERE IS THE TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT

Posted

I can’t believe she’s done nothing since the album dropped :rip: not even a radio interview or a Q&A or something. Sure she got her first #1 in awhile but aside from the playlisting Columbia gave her for Flowers, wtf are they and she doing? So boring! Are You Serious Fed Up GIF

Yeah I agree with all of you what a way to kind of kill an era with no Promo :noparty:  Watch her release a deluxe with 3-4 new songs but doing it with an uneventful way something similar to Positions deluxe :rip: Keep the Deluxe is she will not even bother to do anything for it

Forget about Tour... is not happening

The way we all want so bad promo even her Backyard performances doing numbers

2.7 Million views :flame:

2.2 Million views

Both performances are trending at my country!

Also Jaded surpass 1 Million at YouTube
