Hate Me was initially intended to be the first single of PH, she even recorded a MV for it. Never Be Me and High were the first PH songs Miley publicly talked about, even before the era started, she pointed how much they meant to her as she wrote about her then-marriage with Liam. I remember hearing the Met Gala snippet and thinking Miley had an absolute classic on her hands, and then I heard the final version. Joan Jett sounds awful on it and the bridge is highly annoying. The chorus for me never soars like it sounded in the first snippet. I was expecting something more sleek and similar to Stealers Wheel's Stuck In The Middle.
