I would say Side A is a mix of Younger Now and Plastic Hearts

 

Side B is a mix of Can't Be Tamed and She Is Coming, with elements oF Dead Petz

 

So basically all her eras (except for Bangerz, there's 0 RnB/hip-hop here)

unfortunately the rest was either boring or just not for me. 

 

3.3/10 as a whole album. I am incredibly disappointed in her lol.

Jaded is superb, River/Violet Chemistry/Handstand are great but all of them lack something. Maybe they're growers.

As a whole it sounds kinda dated for me.

So I listened to the full album and i hate to say this (as i was previously really excited for it) - there are only 4 good songs on it: Violet Chemistry  (which might be one of Miley’s best tracks ever ), Handstand (I just wish that instrumental from the middle of the song was longer), Thousand Miles (feat. Brandi Carlile) & River. The rest it’s just a HUGE MESS. Like when I found out that she collaborated with Ian Kirkpatrick i was so excited but “You” turned out to be one of his worst productions ever . Also, Mike-WiLL Made-It is a hit or miss producer. I thought I would get a full album of Slide Aways but unfortunately he only achieved this once (with Violet Chemistry). Such a downgrade from “Plastic Hearts”. For her next album, Miley needs to call Louis Bell again as the main producer cuz how did she get from career highlights like “Midnight Sky”  or “Angels Like You” to this…………

Everyone saying River sounds "dated," "like Bionic," "from 2007" and "from 2011" has me excited. Like come on gays lets not act like we didn't get our life to the mindless Femme Fatale/Loud-esque bops from that era. Give me the electropop NOW. I've been waiting for that sound to make a comeback ever since it left. 

 

I haven't listened yet (gonna go out and make a day of it ), but I know it's common for ATRL (and myself) to dislike stuff at first and then warm up to it. I'm curious to see if, in a few days, everyone will suddenly switch, or if this really is gonna be one of her more lackluster efforts
