I know I'm going to get flack for saying this but I actually applaud the republicans for fighting this out. Is it messy and chaotic. Sure. This is the fight I wish progressives had in them as well. I know these Republicans are only going by a feeling, that McCarthy won't deliver on his promises. Good. These people just say things and aren't ever held accountable. The fact that left and right new media outlets come together against those opposing McCarthy is suspect to me. That was a red red flag for me for sure. Yes even Trump wants McCarty but let’s be real, he’s so dumb. He has no idea what he’s doing. The maga cult also don’t want McCarthy and it’s embarrassing that the maga people think they are doing trump a favor with this ordeal. I haven’t kept up with the consensus in here but I know I’m in the minority being that even my fave progressive news outlets are aligning with msm news narratives right now. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone for not seeing this as a bad thing. If they follow through, this could set precedence for real change. It’ll be a messy route but one that may be required. Let them be the Guinea pigs. Hell. I agree that it’s healthy for leadership to be challenged (Hakeem Jeffries is a terrible leader) but at the end of the day: you shouldn’t go days of grandstanding and backstabbing on live tv. You have to get down to the business of GOVERNING, and this isn’t really even governing, electing a speaker is the bare minimum. 2-3 roll call votes of dem leadership being challenged? I’d be down for that in the future. But 12+ roll call votes and going on a week and not being able to do the bare minimum? It’s not good
dabunique Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 i wonder what would happen if they went with a secret vote

I get that you want to pretend that the left, whose fight is for basic economic and human rights, is somehow equivalent to the right and claim that the left shouldn’t fight the same way to enact an agenda that serves the people. This is how dumb liberals are, they’ll swear by “parliamentary” norms til they’re blue in the face then feign outrage when “democracy is gone.” Lmao y’all let it go because you have no “fight” in govt let alone on the streets On 1/5/2023 at 8:34 AM, Gov Hooka said: Good so can any of the so called “leftists” or “democratic socialists” stop pretending that these charlatans are anything other than controlled Opp? And can all of them stop giving them money and maybe give it to mutual aid groups in their communities instead? Their campaigns are an absolute waste of time and resources These campaigns took money from those who needed it the most. When you're representing the dispossessed and the working class while taking their money, you better make sure it's worth it and give them material gains. Unlike the Corporate Dems' donors, we're stretched!!!
Tusk Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 McCarthy will have one less vote as a member from TX went home to be with his newborn son that was premature.
TeamThiem Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Jim Jordan being nominated by Matt Gaetz. Vomit.
VOSS Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 A few flipped to McCarthy so far but I don’t think it’ll be enough today
A Bomb Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Lmao but at the end of the day this is just a branding issue. There is no difference to the **** Republicans support. Legislation that amps up border patrol will be passed regardless. As will the theatrics surrounding Hunter Biden. I am enjoying the mess tho. The 20 can't even vote for the same person
Sanjja Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I wanna know the concessions were. Lots of flips in McCarthy's direction now.

VOSS Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 (edited) McCarthy has lost the 13th vote I think Edited January 6, 2023 by VOSS
anti-bitch Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Still not enough for KMC, lol. Probably not getting solved today.
Bears01 Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I’m gonna guess he wins it eventually, but still it’s utterly humiliating it’s taken this long
