VOSS Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 I don’t think they will vote for McCarthy or any other gop leadership without insane concessions that the rest of the party would not accept. Also don’t see anyone working with democrats for votes or dems voting present… can’t really see how this ends
Vermillion Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Coming back only to say...the Scalise as compromise candidate was abandoned in less than a day? Also the Freedom Caucus bringing up Civil Rights leaders in their speech for Donalds was particularly gross, and that angle has not been lost on folks following this...
@michael Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Republicans have finally found a way to bring an end to government. Can’t form a government if you can’t elect a Speaker This is becoming a crisis at this point.

Vroom Vroom Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 This nonsense will eventually lead to a government shutdown. Dems will then be forced to intervene and make a deal with Kevin. Republicans will claim that this was the plan from the very beginning. It’s kind of surprising that Boebert is still behaving this way after almost losing her spot in the house. She’ll probably survive in 2024 because of the presidential election but in 2026 she could be done

People need to understand: Democratic turnout this year was mediocre, it was not good. A lot of center right/independent voters just rejected republicans
fridayteenage Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 so he beats the 1923 vote for most rounds. most rounds since before the civil war, whew.

ZIVERT Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Boebert and Gaetz are a disgrace, as are the Republicans in general. But it’s quite humorous to watch the same poison the Republicans allowed to seep into their party turn around and harm them in return

andresg770 Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 What the hell is Bob Good rambling on about?? Did he even say who he's nominating? I feel like he just said he wanted to "nominate a name"
@michael Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Is McCarthy just going to do war of attrition at this point? Just keep voting all day and night until people give up and go home? Is that possible?

Kassi Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Not losing an 11th vote. Omg. This is so humiliating. McCarthy can’t negotiate to save his life and somehow leftists looked at that and thought “Yeah, that’s the type of leader we need.” Like, if he can’t negotiate with a small faction within his own caucus, how the hell was he supposed to get along with the Senate and WH? Meanwhile, Pelosi was able to negotiate $2k checks and $3k/month unemployment with Wallstreet ghoul Steven Mnuchin and legislative terrorist Mitch McConnell, all while in the minority. Some people just have IT I guess.
ClashAndBurn Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Just now, Kassi said: McCarthy can’t negotiate to save his life and somehow leftists looked at that and thought “Yeah, that’s the type of leader we need.” How the absolute **** is that your takeaway of what we want? We didn't want McCarthy. We wanted concessions from Pelosi, or for her to be blocked and humiliated as she deserved to be. Absolutely as incoherent as your Pelosi worship itself.
