Not birthday being an Itzy reject :rip: no wonder it tanked

But my question is how come SM was setting up their 2 biggest groups (aespa and rv) with bad songs?

You know, for me Birthday is not that bad of a song. It's not a top 10 title track of theirs for me, but it's not terrible. The performance video made me like it more.

But it was just not the song they needed to release at that time, plus the album and single release was botched AF, especially knowing it was supposed to come out months earlier.

A Velvet comeback is long long overdue now though.

Umm :rip: so the TT is confirmed scrapped

This article says more and reveals that LSM was forcing aespa to sing a song about planting trees (I knew it after that hour long speech before SMTOWN online concert :rip:)

Apparently Chris Lee said the aespa girls were in tears and devastated at the lyrics, which mention phrases "let's plant trees" "lower the temp by 1 degree" and "sustainability" and then arguments broke out between Chris Lee, LSM and the A&R team about whether the lyrics could be removed from the song. But nothing got resolved, so eventually the decision was taken to cancel the comeback entirely.

Who knows what the truth is, it sounds like a lot of company conflict going on.

I feel SO bad for the girls getting caught up in all this, they don't deserve it and are suffering

Thank god it was scrapped, we can wait a bit longer i think, also this article made me doubt about what "side" aespa was on, I was under the impression that they sided with LSM in this conflict, but I guess the idols wanted LSM out and Chris lee in, a shame hybe had to jump in and make a mess

Yeah, after that hour long speech and the "save the environment!! plant a tree!!" songs in both the SMTOWN album and GOT the beat, I believe 100% this is real. I even commented back then that LSM would turn this environmental kumbaya into the new Kwangya.

I really feel bad for SM acts, especially aespa that seems to be the one act in the eye of the hurricane.

This long rollout for Baemon is making me question whether the music is actually good....see how NMIXX spent like 2 months teasing their debut only for it to be hot garbage. Meanwhile NewJeans spent no time to debut with a fantastic mini

Now that I think about it, maybe they do not have faith with the material itself, so all the marketing went into making sure the group produces a bunch of Lisas and Jennies :fan:

I just can't imagine "greenism" being used in a song; it sounds bizarre. I don't think a song about saving the environment is that ridiculous, tbh, and it could absolutely work with lyrics about enjoying the planet, enjoying nature, etc.

My brain just refuses to accept "greenism", lol. I'm gonna keep an eye on this and see if the fans verify it, lol.
