Nnnn I really like the song Batter Up but the whole mv and concept is so dated there is literally not any difference from blackpink

batter up is cute tbh, just not a great debut... should’ve looked into the somi folder for this one i fear the creative direction is the biggest miss for me, i really wanted them to offer something new and groundbreaking but we get blackpink on budget

Its just right now we are witnessing so many great and interesting concepts from other artists like XG, New Jeans, Young Posse, TripleS, etc... I was hoping from YG to step up their game and give us a really unique debut experience with keeping their hip hop roots.

No shade intended, sis! I am rooting for them. Really interesting that they made Chiquita the center—she has so much charisma they really lucked out on finding her last minute. Asa is truly such a queen, probably the best rapper in K-pop in a long time. Ruka would have probably been well suited to be the CL type leader of the YG Japan new girl group. I’ll be honest, musically this was not it but it’s not the girls’ fault.

I think that’s exactly why people think it’s gay-fishing, because of the ambiguity and the “it’s up for your own interpretation” with the refusal to call it a love triangle. Plus there’s many scenes of just them (MG and WW) together where the girl is N/A and it’s giving forbidden love. Not quite, only ASA showed her skills, Ruka is just like the others girlies who don't write their raps, she's just karaokeing and following the producers/songwriter steps.
