Not people downgrading IVE success because they aren't #1 with those slow songs when they  have like 5 songs charting in Melon atm :deadbanana4:

They also have the biggest 4gen It Girl atm, several hits and great sales.

I thought past hits didn't matter when talking about current underperformances. :emofish: At least that's what ktrl said last year

Considering they have a 2022  song still charting at 11, their underperforming song rising  at 12, and another one in the top 30 I don’t think it’s the same case as pulling numbers from 2021 :cm:

No NewJeans stan here said they have a legacy close to BLACKPINK/SNSD at the moment. The user who gave this opinion isn't a Tokki (as far as I know)

I’m not saying their legacy is anywhere close to BP or SNSD, I’m just stating the obvious that they’re clearly the top girl group and front runner in their generation. Though frankly I find rankings don’t really matter and aren’t as far apart or even relevant for this generation. There’s room for all groups as long as we get bops. Newjeans aespa IVE and LSRFM will continue to get daily streams from me and my coins for concert tickets regardless of what they rank on arbitrary charts.

As what I'd said. Let's give those girls some more years to prove themselves and not let our feelings/vibes dictates everything.

Now I’m not trying to spar because I love aespa but I recognize following the change of their project’s concept in 2018, SM took part of loona’s concept after helping and studying them and mixed it to try create their version of a YG girl group. They obviously put their own spin and branched out from that beginning but I don’t think total originality really exists too much in later generations inevitably.

I don't agree that loona and YG were aespa's influences at ALL but I see your point about originality. Even HOT was taking different aspects of pop music around the world to inform their output. I think there's still value to being the person who sets the trend or packages their influences up in a novel way though.

I wasn't talking about you, but Adama. They were the user saying NewJeans is closer to SNSD/BLACKPINK's impact, or something like that. And somehow the user above said It was stans giving them titles. I was clarifying there isn't any stan doing so, cause, as far as I know, Adama stans other groups.

I didn’t mentioned legacy. I said Aespa are not the one who made the biggest impact from their gen, and if we’re being real « NJ are the closet to SNSD and BP cultural impact ».

and stop putting BP who are a direct product of a more impactful group's influence on the level of SNSD who were actually setting the trends themselves and not riding them out after their seniors were forcibly disbanded.

In raw #s BP is definitely in the all time kpop GG trinity, but again the discussion is about impact and influence. Certain circle and melon obsessed users don't seem the fully grasp what that is.

I don’t think we’re at a point to discuss cultural impact quite yet. Yes they’re the clear top group but these groups are all getting hits now it’s not as easy to distinguish imo and we know what controversy can do to a very popular group. Each group will leave their own legacy and three generations down the line this will be considered the golden era of girl groups.

This automatically makes anything you say about aespa wrong

I was just clarifying that there isn't NewJeans stan here giving them titles or comparing their to groups' impact and achievements from other generations at the moment, as you mentioned in your post.

You read too much into my post that was very simple...

THANK YOU it was driving me crazy. One of Taeyeon's best b-sides. They really do sound extremely similar though :rip:

Speaking of Impact.

Aespa will continue to be the 4th Gen Leaders who set the trend for metaverses/geek culture in Kpop when Kpop fans were laughing at them but then 3 years later, their faves are basically riding nor taking inspirations from it.

Now that's an impact. Not feels and vibes

Whether they are a MY or not, I think their claim of aespa stealing from loona and yg is wrong...

Lee Sooman agreed to help Loona put food on their table in exchange for choosing their music and now we have to deal with people who think aespa's concept was stolen from them :deadbanana4:

I mean no one would have talked about cultural impact if Aespa stan didn’t talk about « musical legacy »  and « biggest cultural impact from the 4th gen » in the first place :dies:

All these users that are dragging aespa and MYs left and right actually share a fanbase but let me not point that out and get accused of being obsessed with them again. We all know the tea.

Again, you are acting as if I created this rule! :biblio: It's literally what multiple users in here put into action last year

No one said their concept was directly “stolen” except bitter fans on twitter. But I personally see their similarities, you don’t have to agree. I’m more saying that nothing is created in a vacuum and of course new groups will draw from their predecessors.  I love aespa and am a sheep; apologies for my poor wording!  :bird:
