GIDLE literally kickstarted started 4th gen though and were the first popular 4th gen group + they also had the K/DA gig. "Pop Stars" is literally the most viewed and streamed 4th gen song on YouTube and Spotify.

Something in me changed forever after I heard this for the first time I fear:alexz:

Yeah, but they music wasn't hitting enough

to say they lead 4th gen

I would say ITZY were the face and lead the pack

So? Shes still stiff as hell

It's true she doesn't have the level of fluidity of momo (which is why she's not on her level) but she's not stiff at all, and her technique is probably just as good if not better than momo's, a ballerina like her can basically master any dance style, there's a reason why ballet is the foundation of all dance :gaycat2:

You cant tell me that 1 million people went to the cd store to purchase a ITZY album. Or that 3 million people bought NCTs latest album when the group has been a huge critical and commercial failure their entire run. These sales are not believable at all. Its only believeable for BTS and BP

Itzy and Nmixx sales are fishy considering how much they are flopping

However, aespa's sales are reported consistently on at least 3 different platforms - Gaon, Hanteo and ktown4u. And their cbars have receipts of their huge orders

BLACKPINK really put fashion on the map for K-Pop

give them their 10's

I'd say Jessica, G-Dragon and CL made the link between K-Pop and fashion and did a lot of the groundwork. All 3 still have great standing within the fashion sphere even now because of that. They were like the original "fashionable idols" and they managed to trend at a time when K-Pop didn't have the big following it does now.

Before that, K-Pop fashion was not really internationally focused at all.

BP/YG just took it to the next level, given K-Pop's massively increased profile and worldwide interest by the time they debuted. Right group, right place, right time.

theres 8 billion people on the world, people order albums nowadays from the interent. count bulk buys and it doesnt look that odd anymore

Itzy had always have a big fanbase internationally and their growth is organic they didn’t debut with 400k sales their debut album was selling like less than 100k.

i don’t know RV were selling as much as MMM 3 years ago and in 2019, 30k albums got shipped back according to gaon and now they’re million seller. Bfr

Irene is obviously good and I don’t need to see this video to know that. But is that supposed to be better than Jihyo? Cause I sure as hell don’t see it.

Mina has 11 years of ballet on her back, anyone with minimal knowledge of dance would call her a good dancer :rip: the rest don't have that professional background but they're still good dancers, at worst you could argue Jeongyeon isn't as good as she once was tbh, her health issues obviously affected it but even then, she's nowhere near a bad dancer

Right? :rip: people should stick to pushing that narrative about their vocals :bam:

It’s really giving ignorance to the max tbh. I wonder how they get so confident in speaking lies about something they don’t know.

Except that RV's albums are always understocked and fans had to beg SM to release more. RV Finale alone sold more than 200k when it got restocked. U think they would need to fake sales of a 3 year old album? :ahh:

The little Garamsters or whatever they're called are really putting in the work. I found myself looking at a couple posts an being like "I miss little garam, she's innocent." I don't even know Garam and didn't think anything of her while she was in the group. It's brainwashing, that's how she still has so many fans :giraffe:

Wait. Is this a joke? Ballet ≠ commercial pop dance and tbh I've seen nothing of Mina's core foundation to believe she was an exceptional ballerina. In the states, it's customary to play team sports from grade school (tots and little league) to college - if accepted on a college team keeping in mind their are different rankings for divisions. I played competitive volleyball for 8 years but at an A level. I could not make a collegiate D team.

I love Minamal but 11 years of recreational ballet doesn't make her good at ballet and it's a besmirchment to try to put her on Momo's level of commercial dance. She's regularly too upright and rigid and overly placed in her movements which is actually her ballet training working against her.

Key world if they aren’t playing world-famous K-POP idols.

Add, that it’s from a Japanese tabloid, then it’s probably someone from Twice or if it’s someone from LSFRM only Sakura is big enough (since they exposed a lot of AKb48 members in the past)

I think it's most likely going to be a Japanese kpop idol with another one, not sure what groups that are popular worldwide with Japanese members outside TWICE

I feel like G-IDLE is like Apink/Girl's day/AOA, even if they aren't going to be the biggest girl group, they can have a long career like Apink or Girl's day(all the member are actresses now).

Also, you dont really think of Apink and Girl's day when someone talks about 2nd Gen.

I feel like if it was a twice member it wouldn’t really be much of a scandal. I can’t imagine much people caring that a 25-30 yo is seeing someone unless the someone in question is jyp or something

anyways every time I hear about “omg they’re gonna drop a big scoop on an idol” nothing comes of it. i hope this time it’s a proper mess (unless Sakura or Yunjin are involved)

crazy how these 4th gen groups can become fashion influencers and brand ambassadors AND also release and promote new music - all at the same time!

not every kpop group of IG models can do that!

a question for jpop fans: how do the Japanese react to idols dating?

is it considered a huge news and sometimes a scandal like in Korea or no one really cares?

obviously ballet=/=any dance but ballet gives you the base for quite literally any dance genre

She was pursuing ballet professionally, not as a hobby or activity, until she was casted by JYPE, and she is good, no one put her on momo's level as a commercial dancer (Iike I literally said that was the reason why she's not on her level) but you can't deny her technique is just as good only because she lacks the fluidity momo has on her chest:bam:

I’m not an expert but since Japanese scandals are always wild, I doubt that they are going to react badly lol. Even Knetz don’t react badly now, however fans are still very childish

For exemple, a Japanese tabloid exposed a Japanese idol or actress (I don’t remember) coming out of a married man's home, Another celeb brought prostitutes from a club to his home. And another celeb sold to a Japanese tabloid stories of another celeb being wild in bed (it was a top female Japanese idol but I also don’t remember)
