Imo first day sales don't matter that much, because it depends a lot on the ability of the companies to ship the pre orders units, Hybe is really good at this seems like they produce enough albums and ship most of it on time hence the high first day sales

 

Still le sserafim numbers are very impressive, they have managed to have a great growth despise having a troubling start with member controversies and lose a member

Kind of an odd choice for SM to release WTMY, it sounds very much like an intro for the album. Not single/pre-release material.

I'm shocked that they really scrapped the whole MV shot in Australia. I wonder if they completely redone the lyrics or it was a completely different song and they just kept the photoshoot.

aespa switched up from BP to NewJeans really quickly  it’s funny how most of aespa stans here are actually SM stans who are trying so bad to like their new group. It’s time to let go girls, that company is over.

Apparently yes. The Wonyoung nationality/ethnicity scandal and she accused of hijack/"stealing" Chinese culture by claiming Phoenix hairpin from Korean culture was making big in China and she being cancelled 

 

New Jeans also kinda cancelled in China due to the Lunar/Chinese New Year debacle earlier this year.

like obviously there are other smashes with big streams, but this one has caught on beyond the kpop bubble internationally which is something even hits from groups with big fanbases can’t force

I don't know If you guys have seen, but Stays found out they've been promoting/teasing 5-Star for OVER A YEAR. 

 

I wonder If 5-Star was the album supposed to follow Oddinary and they had to switch to release Maxident, because they wouldn't be able to promote a full album within the touring schedules. But, in my opinion, It was always clear they didn't like Maxident that much. In the middle of the era they were already excited for the next album and talking about 2023. 

 

Yesterday Felix said on bubble "this time" the songs are addictive. They seem very excited for 5-S. 

 

Maybe the Universe said they had to release Case 143 first for Japan Domination 

I saw the Changbin "Hall of Fame" video before but the other clues and easter eggs are surprising omg they're Taylor Swift's sons in that aspect, they love to hint

I don't think Starship have the structure to ship fast all these albums compared to YG plus/Hybe.

Im not sure but the album only had 3 versions witn no distinctions and limited jewells case for each members. 

The preorders started 3 weeks before the album release.

I get what you're saying with the aesthetic shift to minimalism but the song in no way sounds like NewJeans, it's still very SM sounding. Lots of Taeyeon and Red Velvet songs are relatively in line with this sound. Same with the point about BP - their noise music was much more like other SM acts than Teddy music.

 

I and other sheep don't have any actual loyalty to SM as a company. We primarily just like their sound, and secondly their tendency to make vocally talented groups. No one is forcing themselves to like anything, half the sheep are NCT haters ffs lol
