I love seeing Mariah at the top but I didn’t play AIW this year. If anything my favourites from her now are O Holy Night (her version has always been best), Christmastime is in the Air Again and When Christmas Comes. And Kelly’s first Christmas album is really good and starting to get more recognition. AIW is a staple and will continue to be but I see more competition for it in the future 

 

As for Brenda that song is overplayed and I don’t use it either

She literally sounds 60ish old lady during her two #1s singles at age 15

 

And She recorded RATCT at 13..wtf

Remixes this far "after the fact" don't count towards a songs points. That's why AIWFCIY  "Super Festive" remix with Justin Beiber wasn't added to the original's chart run. BUT a remix could generate interest in the original. Lee needs to perform RATCT on TV too. I found a performance she did on 04 Dec 22 but that wasn't broadcast, just a bunch of other older Country stars jamming to RATCT that was shared on YT 11 Dec. I REALLY WANT RATCT to get #1 but I think Mariahs Christmas Eve show is enough to keep her at #1. And Carey has a big YT lead too.

I would say that Super Festive wasn't really classified as a remix but a cover that featured vocals from the original artist. It was on Bieber's own holiday album as well. It also came out before Whitney Houston's death, which was THE turning point where Billboard changed their rules and allowed recurrent catalog hits to chart, so it had to be counted as its own entry or it wouldn't have even been able to chart at all.

I can't share the 2021s discussion link thru my phone but (I think) 4 BB chart "prognosticators" discussed at length what Lee could do to try & close the gap last December. They discussed ideas & options in that article. If I had my computer I'd look it up & share it. But a quick search should turn it up.
